Zak POV

The lockdown at the school was not what I had thought it would be. Seeing how it all affected Avery, almost made my heart break. When they were upstairs, we caught some ground breaking evidence ourselves but I couldn't bring myself to tell her what we had caught.

Billy and I walked through the main floor, not receiving anything until we ended up in the main area. The temperature dropped quickly and we started to hear footsteps closing in on us. The talking EVP device stood by as I asked questions.

"Who are you?"

ITC word: Girl

"What's your name?"

ITC word: No response

"Do you know Avery Bell?" Billy asked unexpectedly behind me.

ITC word: Danger
ITC word: Last

"Maybe it's saying that she's in danger and that she's the last Bell." Billy said in a hushed tone.

ITC word: Upstairs

"She knows that Avery is upstairs!" Billy exclaimed.

"Did Avery's parents die of suicide?" I asked, not knowing if I wanted to hear what the spirits would say.

ITC word: Forced

Billy and I stood in shock at what we had just heard come from the talking EVP device. Her parents deaths were forced upon by this unknown spirit or entity.

"Why commit suicide?" I yelled, feeling like my heart would break at the answer.

ITC word: Power

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. A part of me already knew, but it still hurt all the same. Shortly after, an intense cold struck me. I felt breathing upon my ear and what I heard next, made tears form in my eyes.

"She's next. "

When she left from the investigation, we all met up at nerve center to gather our thoughts and decide on whether or not to continue. I could feel all of their eyes on me as I sat in silence, trying to process it all.

"This is the most insane investigation I think we have ever been on." Billy spoke up first, breaking the silence.

"What should we do about Avery? Clearly something is trying to get to her..." Jay rested his hand upon his chin.

"That's what I'm still trying to figure out." I said calmly, even though I wanted to explode.

"Would it be different if you didn't care about her?" Aaron asked.

I sat in thought for a moment, thinking about what he had just asked. I've always found ways to help people, whether it be a priest or counseling or even having myself be available to them when in need after getting them professional help. But Avery was different. She needed more than that and because I cared for her, I didn't want to leave her here in this town. I wanted to personally come to her rescue and save her from evil. But how would I do that if we leave soon? It was too much to think about.

"I think we should wrap this up, go back to the B and B, get some rest and then tomorrow go over everything we captured. Let's come back tomorrow to collect all of our equipment."

We all stood, gathered some of our gear and locked up the school. We gathered inside the SUV, taking one last look at the building we were just in and headed off to the B and B.
