Avery POV
Looking back, I knew it was the right decision to leave it all behind. Zak made me feel safe and it was in my best interest to go. It was all I ever knew and thought about from time to time but I always pushed it back into my mind. Trying to forget was hard and occasionally I would have a very realistic nightmare but Zak was right there to comfort me.
Shortly after I moved in with him in Las Vegas, I started writing about my experiences and Zak helped me with his side of it. Soon, I was encouraged to submit it to a publishing agency and as I waited, disappointment sank in. It had been weeks with no word back on my book. One day while cuddling with Gracie on the couch, I got the call that changed my writing career. They loved it. Every word they said.
With my first book published and selling well, I had finally began my dream in doing what I've always wanted and continued to write more. I was set and Zak was so supportive. When he would leave to travel for his work, I would stay home with Gracie and dive into my own work. Once he was home, I would take a break and spend time with the two loves of my life.
It was hard at first. We hadn't known eachother that long before I was living under his roof but before we knew it, we were dancing around in our underwear and really seeing what we were like as people. The good and the bad. His not putting the toilet seat back down after he used the bathroom or our morning breath when we awoke or me laying on the couch covered in potato chips as he laughed at my appearance and all of the small things that someone does.
I fell in love with everything about him, including the bad. I knew he felt the same. Sometimes when he would come back from filming, he would distance himself from me or even get moody and angry, many times in which I had to call Aaron to come calm him down. I knew he didn't mean to act out but it still scared me the same.
Not too long after my book was published, he took me out to a special private spot in Vegas that was completely void of people. It was a fenced in area with trees for what seemed to be miles and lights hung on each one. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. We walked for awhile until I noticed a small clearing near a pond and a table where two chairs sat. A dinner was placed on the table with what seemed to be a red wine and a man in a suit stood by welcoming us.
"What is this?" I asked looking up to him.
"Special dinner for a special girl. I'm so proud of you and wanted to do something nice for you." He smiled down at me causing me to melt inside.
We sat down and ate our meal, laughing and teasing eachother throughout. Sipping on my wine, I noticed he had stood up leaving me at the table.
"Are we leaving?" I asked setting my wine down.
"Avery... I..." He immediately got down on one knee, making my heart skip a beat in my chest.
"Some may say it's too soon but I feel like I've known you all my life. You accept me fully, even all of the bad and support me with everything I do. The first time I saw you, I was drawn to you and now I understand why. We were meant to be together Avery and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. You were made for me, as I was you and I couldn't imagine life without you. Will you marry me?" I could see the love in his eyes and I began to tear up at the sight of the ring.
"Yes. Yes I'll marry you!" I exclaimed and he took me in his arms, spinning me around.
He kissed my lips softly and as I returned it, I pushed my body into his, grinding against him. He let out a small growl and picked me up, carrying me to a private spot nearby. He placed me on my feet and I noticed a blanket lay neatly on the ground.
