Zak POV
Her blue dress was lifted slightly by the warm, delicate wind as she placed her hand on the old oak. Her fingers began outlining the creases in the bark and she took in a long, deep breath. The water before her was still, making small ripples within as the wind came and gone. She looked as if the life was slowly draining from her and her smile was no longer a part of her beautiful face.
A gust of wind hit her with force causing her auburn hair to spiral out of control behind her. Immediately she turned to her right, staring at something with fear. Her whole body turned cold and the last bit of life drained from her cheeks. She spoke in a harsh tone,
"Please... Don't hurt her." Tears formed in her eyes as she spoke to someone I couldn't see.
She stepped back slowly, her hands shaking violently at her sides.
"Take me. Take me instead. Please..." More tears rushed down her cheeks and the wind stopped almost on cue.
Her whole demeanor changed as if she was an entirely different person. Her arms hung sluggish at her sides and her eyes stayed opened wide, still looking at whatever was before her. She spoke in a whisper,
"Okay..." It was like She was answering back to someone but I still couldn't see who.
She began to walk slowly, hurt and pain present in her emerald eyes. She stopped and looked up at something that was out of frame. A deep breath escaped her lungs and a single tear ran down her cheek, landing on the front of her dress.
She reached in the front of her dress grabbing an old key that hung loosely around her neck. Squeezing it tightly, She turned in my direction, staring directly into my very soul.
"Save her..."
I woke up in a panic as I heard loud knocking on my door. I threw on some clothes and looked wearily into the peep hole. It was the guys. I opened the door, letting out an annoyed sigh.
"You do realize what time it is right?"
"Dude, your not going to believe this." Aaron said with a smile beaming across of his face.
"What's so important that it can't wait until later?"
"It took some coercion but we got it. We have the contact information for the caretaker." Jay spoke up behind Aaron.
"Are you serious? How did you get it? Don't tell me you had to sell yourself for the night.." I tried joking as Jay spoke up again.
"Not this time," He joked, "I couldn't sleep, I've been thinking about this house and the history all night. Well, since we got here. All I had to do was throw some charm at the lady from the bakery and she caved."
"This is good guys, were one step closer to getting to Ms. Bell. Let's go downstairs and grab some breakfast, then we will make the call."
We all sat in the dining room as we enjoyed our fresh breakfast. The guys began talking about our next investigation at the old school and what they thought it would be like stepping inside, especially on Bell property. Aaron spoke up from next to me,
"So what do you think Ms. Bell is going to be like? Old? Mean?" He laughed nudging me in the side.
"Hopefully we will be able to get into that house, that's all I'm concerned about."
We were finishing up breakfast when Ms. Moore approached us, nodding at the guys and taking a seat next to me. She spoke,
"So I couldn't help but overhear that you boys were trying to get in contact with the caretaker out on the Bell property. Did you?" Her eyebrows creased slightly.
