Avery POV
Spending those days with Zak were probably the best of my life. It didn't take long to memorize every inch of his sculpted body and when I was in his arms, I felt like I was finally at home. While kissing his soft lips I felt like Our very souls were intertwining and becoming one. I never wanted it to end.
I didn't know what they would uncover in that house but just the thought of him and his team going in there, made me feel uneasy. That house was the root of evil. I sat in my living room looking on into the dancing flames as I played with the key that hung loosely around my neck.
I remembered a time where it had been around my mother's neck, hanging over her breasts as she danced and ran around on the short, green grass. I can still remember the day I noticed she wasn't wearing it, which was odd for her but quickly dismissed it. Later on, she was found hanging from the rafter up in the tower. All of the memories came flooding back and thats when I heard a loud commotion coming from the house.
I moved the curtain aside, looking out of the window and could see Jay bolting out of nerve center and making a run for the house. I continued to hear shouting and my stomach started to turn. I could hear them yelling a name but I couldn't make it out from that far away. In a split second I seen Aaron sprinting out of the house, placing his hands on his knees as he hunched over. It almost looked as if he threw up and at this point my legs began to shake. I knew this would happen.
I noticed Aaron run back inside and when he came back out, he was helping the others carry Zak out of the house. They laid him down on the grass near the fence and Billy began shaking him, trying to wake him from what it seemed. At the sight of this, I bolted out of the house and ran to the fence, the guys looking at me with horror in their eyes.
"What happened?!" I asked shakily.
"He... He.." Jay could hardly speak.
The others stood, hands on their heads, not knowing what to say or what to do.
"Bring him over here. Now." I said sternly.
On command without questioning me, they lifted him up and carried him to the other side of the fence where I stood and almost immediately the color in his face began coming back.
"Bring him inside, near the fireplace."
I watched as they did exactly what I said and soon we were all gathered around the sofa, watching down at Zak. My heart started to break into two, seeing him like that.
"What happened?" I asked looking around the room at the guys who stood there silent.
"Um..." Billy said as he looked anxiously to Aaron and Jay.
"Zak went up stairs on his own and after awhile we started having alot of activity down stairs. We called Zak down and he came to join us. There were shadow figures everwhere, communicating with us." Billy stated.
"The energy was insane. Not negative by any means. But that all changed when they started to scatter about as if they were running from something." Aaron spoke.
"The room was charged with this heavy, negative presence and that's when we all saw him... standing behind Zak." Billy cleared his throat quickly. They all went silent again.
"What happened next?" I asked.
"He spoke to him. Told him he wanted to show him something and he physically touched Zak. Zak dropped to the ground and wouldn't wake up. He came to for a split second when we got him out of there but I think the spirit completely drained him. We've never seen anything like it before." Billy looked down at Zak once more.
