Hey!
So, chapter 2 is here. What did you think of the first chapter? I also wanted to apologise for any mistakes I might have made in the last chapter or any chapters to come :/
Carry on reading to find out what happens next in Dawood and Sumaiya's story :)
- Dawood's PoV
I sat on my bed, scrolling through my social media even though my mind was elsewhere. Junaid parked himself on my chair, and I could see him analysing me from the corner of my eye.
"Yes Junaid?"
"You are going to say yes, aren't you?" he asked, seriously; but not as though he didn't already know the answer.
"I don't now bro, it's just, I've never seen anyone for marriage before. I never thought I was ready, but meeting a girl who's so down to earth, so humble and caring and funny, who seems to love her family more than anything, has an amazing job, yet still seems to put Islam first, it's kinda opened my eyes a bit – you know what I mean?" I asked.
"technically, no – but yes too. I'll tell you something though, you two looked great together. Give it a shot, and if it doesn't work out, then what's to say you can't say no later on?" he shrugged his shoulders before punching me softly on the arm and strolling out. It hadn't even been two minutes before he came back in though.
"Mum and Dad are calling you down. Seema and Ibraheem (her husband) have gone home though."
"Okay, I'll be down in a minute."
Down I went. The discussion started, and I could see that my family was really happy. So was I. All I'd been able to think about all evening was her. I know it's crazy, but I think us two could really work.
"So Son, what do you say? Is it a yes?"
Here goes, bismillah, "yeah, I guess it is!"
"Yayyy!! Dawood my baby boy you have made me so happy!! Let me call Laila" shrieked my mother, and I grinned at her.
"Congratulations Son, you've made an excellent decision" said my dad as he patted me on the back.
"Does this mean I'm finally going to have a sister-in-law?! Yesss!!! Thanks Dawood." My little brother was genuinely very happy. "Let me tell Seema, she's going to be so happy!!"
And that was that, I agreed to see Sumaiya again, my parents were happy, my brother was happy, my sister and her husband would be happy, but most importantly, I was happy.
Happier than I had been in a long time.
So, without further ado, I ran upstairs, did wudhu, and prayed to Allah in thanks for the beautiful girl I'd met that day, and made du'aa that all would fall into place, that she would agree, and that we could spend the rest of our lives together in happiness.
- Sumaiya's PoV
"Here comes the bride, here comes the bride..." I could hear singing voices coming towards my room.
"He said YES!" Hanna, Faatiha, Zahra and mama screamed in unison as they fought to enter my room first before crashing into me and enveloping me in the most bear-like hug.
"Really?! What? I didn't expect him to like me back! How could anyone actually like me? Oh, thank you Allah! Mama, are you joking?"
"No, you numpty, and now I can call her back, and let her know that you agree too. I can't believe my baby is so grown up!"
After a few more hugs and happy tears, I was finally alone again, in bed and thinking about everything that happened today.
So there you have it, both have agreed to see each other again! Eek! I am really enjoying writing this story, and I really hope you guys are enjoying reading it too! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
