Dawood's PoV

I slowly stood up from my seat on the chair beside the window. My brother walked towards me, fixing my tie before hitting me lightly on my shoulder and chuckling to himself before heading towards the door to leave.

"Hey, why are you leaving me? I might pass out from anxiety right now." I joked.

"Why? Cold feet?"

"Nah bro, its just, what if I do something wrong. What if she doesn't grow to feel for me the way I will no doubt feel for her? What if I'm not who she wants me to be?"

"Dawood. I am not experienced when it comes to this kind of stuff. I am younger than you, but sometimes I feel like I'm the older one" he laughed and came back to sit next to me. "Sumaiya is marrying you for who you are, nobody or nothing else. You are not perfect, this family is not perfect, hell, she might not even be perfect, but let me tell you this. I have seen you two together, I was there for your first meeting, I was there at the engagement, the nikaah – all these precious moments between you and her, they've built up to this. Today she becomes your wife, you become her husband. You will grow to look beyond the others imperfections and grow to love and cherish each other InshaAllah. Pray to your Lord, he'll shower his blessings on you."

I nodded, he was right.

"Now though Mr Groom, I believe its time for us to get going."

"Yeah, thanks J"

..

We were here, the venue was amazing. I took a deep breath. I was no longer anxious, I was excited – so, so excited. I swung open the doors of the AMG Mercedes that my dad drove me here in and looked up to see a photographer snapping away at my every move. I smiled, knowing that the same would be happening all throughout today, and I was grateful that we had a great team of talented people to capture our special day.

..

We were all standing in a room at the back of the grand ballroom – where the wedding was due to happen. The guests are all inside already, and from what I can see from here, the decorations are beautiful. I was in absolute shock at the detail that had been included in everything, and I have not even seen it properly yet.

Seema, my older sister, came to me and squeeled "I cannot believe my brother is getting married!!!" and then handed me a large box of beautiful flowers which, following my desi traditions, I would present to my bride.

My parents hugged me and entered the hall, making their way down the red carpet that ran through the centre, carving out the path to the stage. Then my sister went out with her arm linked into my brother in law's arm, who also carried my nephew Huzaifa.

Me and Junaid walked out next, I clutched onto the box in my hands and could barely contain my excitement at the idea of meeting my bride.

They walked me to the stage and photos were taken of me and my family before Sumaiya's family arrived.

Not long after, I noticed the soundtrack playing in the background changed, to a slower nasheed, one that I had heard only once before. It was called, 'for the rest of my life' and was by an artist called Maher Zain(listen to it if you haven't heard it hehehe). I stood up on the stage and waited for her parents to make their way down, hug me, greet my parents, and stand to the side of the stage. Her sisters and another girl who I don't recognise then made their way down, along with her brother in law.

All of a sudden, I felt my breath being pulled away from me, a tear came to my eye, my gaze was fixed upon the magnificent sight that was before me. A beautiful girl in a white and silver embroidered gown (I inserted a picture of the dress in a previous chapter, but I may insert it again as a reminder) clung onto the arm of her brother and floated towards me. Seconds later, they were standing beside me. I couldn't think straight, I couldn't look up at her. Not yet, I wasn't ready, her mere presence was making my heart flutter. I hadn't even looked up at her face yet, not properly.

Her brother enveloped her in a secure hug, whispered something in her ear, and held out her hand towards me

Her brother enveloped her in a secure hug, whispered something in her ear, and held out her hand towards me. I took it in my own, and made a vow in my heart never to let her go.
