Calypso
I hated the fact that Percy was going off on a quest with her.
Hated it.
And expressed it plainly to him that day in an iris message.
"Calypso, calm down," he reminded me. "I love you."
"When will I see you again?" I asked.
"Soon," he said. "I promise."
Percy's promises were pure gold. He never broke one.
"I love you," I said.
"I love you too." The iris message began shimmering. He reached his hand out, palms facing me. I pressed my hand into his, and the mist began to fade away.
I walked back into our bedroom and sat down on the edge of the bed.
It wasn't like I was concerned, but I had major trust issues after living 2,000 years of heartbreak. I often worried about Percy with mortals, or Percy with Annabeth, or with other immortals. Heck, I worried about it a ton. Everybody saw the light in him that I saw, how could I not?
Still, Percy was always patient with me, reassuring me. He was the best husband I could ask for. I looked down at my wedding ring- a silver band with a sea green diamond. His was also a silver band, with the engravings of a moon lace plant on it. He wore it all the time. It had some island magic in it, and mine had some of the seas power. They were both fashioned in Poseidon's cyclops forges, designed by Hephaestus himself.
Rings were a symbol of unity, something I hadn't had in a long time.
"M'lady," a mermaid approached me. "Would you like me to take you to camp to say goodbye to Lord Perseus in person?"
"Yes," I quickly said. "Get me there as soon as possible."

"Percy," I called out to him as I approached the Big House.
"Calypso!" He cried in joy before running down the steps.
He embraced me, and I buried my face in his chest. "I wanted to say goodbye."
"It's not goodbye, it's see you later," he clarified. "I don't say goodbyes, they're bad luck."
"I've said too many goodbyes," I said. "You can't make me say goodbye to you too."
He kissed me on the cheek, and I turned my head and met his lips.
We broke away.
"I love you," he reminded me. "Always."
"Say it again," I said. "Don't wanna forget."
"I love you," he flashed me a gorgeous smile. His sea green eyes were shining like the ocean on a sunny day. "To the moon and back."
"I love you," I said, my insides melting. "Be safe."
"For you, m'lady," he said. "Only for you."
Annabeth approached us. "We need to go, Percy."
"Watch his back for me," I said.
Percy and Annabeth exchanged glances. "She's pretty good at that."
"I've got your back, Percy," she gave him a smile.
I suddenly remembered when Annabeth had taken a knife for Percy, in his only weak spot. I frowned. Something I could never do.
In a lot of ways, I felt like I couldn't compete with her.
"Bye Percy," I said, not wanting to see any more of their reminiscing on the good times.
He looked at me, confused. He was so oblivious half the time. "Bye, Calypso. Iris message me."
"You too," I said, and began walking towards the commons.
From behind me, I could see the bright of Golden lights from them flashing to New York to meet Artemis.
I turned in time to see them fizzle into a shower of sparks.
"Ah, the old crew," Chiron said from the porch. "Duty calls."
"It sure does," I said, trying to keep my cool.
Camp Half-Blood looked beautiful against the rising sun, cascades of luscious green plants and strawberry fields pouring down the hills.
Beauty was so temporary, that I wondered what it must look like to a mortal. I wondered what it felt like to live in a life that's temporary. Where heartbreak, love, and jealousy were temporary.
It would make it more important, I thought.
