He had an air of pea soup that day. Cyrus crinkled his nose at the thought. His parents used that expression often, and the thought of becoming his parents made him fidgety. But it was true. TJ was like pea soup that day. His pale green eyes were slightly glossed over in thought as his lips curved unconsciously into a light pout.
"Hey soupy boy" Cyrus piped up, a light smile dancing across his lips.
TJ chuckled lightly, the comment catching him off guard.
"Soupy boy?" He inquired playfully.
Cyrus shrugged.
"Yeah, it's just something my parents call me when I look like that"
"Like what?" TJ asked, raising his eyebrow slightly, sparkles dotting his eyes.
Cyrus bit his lip. He wasn't sure if he should say; he doubted his ability to describe TJ's pea soup persona without sounding like he was totally head over heels for the guy. His stomach did somersaults.
"Wellllll......" he started, trying to think of the right words to say.
"Well?" TJ hummed, his smile growing.
Cyrus sighed. There was no escaping this now.
"You look like pea soup. Your eyes are doing that thing where they get glossy green and your mouth..."
He paused, his eyes flickering to TJ's lips.
"It's just p-pouty! That's all!!" Cyrus squeaked, his voice cracking slightly.
TJ laughed, the rich noise filling the air, suffocating Cyrus in embarrassment. He felt his cheeks begin to burn, and he reflexively looked down in shame.
"Well you're starting to look an awful lot like tomato soup!" TJ chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners as Cyrus's blush deepened.
"Tomato soup?!" He exclaimed, "how do I look like tomato soup? That makes absolutely no sense!"
"Well, I just mean, um, your face is, er— uh, your cheeks are—" TJ stammered, Cyrus had leaned in closer without realizing it, oblivious to the electricity TJ felt surging down his spine and into his gut.
TJ cleared his throat and tried again.
"I just mean your face is really flushed all of the sudden..." TJ explained, brushing his fingers absentmindedly across the smaller boy's cheek.
Cyrus's face betrayed him further at the touch, deepening into a dark crimson. TJ's hand froze halfway down to his face, his eyes glossing over in thought once more. His lips puckered again as he stared into Cyrus's eyes.
"See? Pea soup" Cyrus breathed, leaning in closer.
"Actually, tomato soup" TJ exhaled, closing the gap between the two boys.
The kiss was gentle yet fleeting, and both boys pulled away slowly, their eyes illuminated with the electricity of young love.
Cyrus was the first to break the silence.
"Now you look like tomato soup!" He exclaimed as TJ's face warmed.
Silence.
"Enough about soup!" TJ exclaimed suddenly, "just kiss me again you dork"

That was my first piece I've ever written!! I'm really happy with it, but I'd appreciate any feedback you may have. I realize I forgot to add a setting, so imagine wherever you wish, although I am personally inclined to a park on a sunny day. This was actually based on something I used to call people a few years back, so I'm sorry if the whole Soupy Boy concept is kinda confusing to anyone. Anyways, I'll be updating this whenever I have inspiration for a new story, so I can't promise any regularity in my posting schedule, but I will be posting again soon :) I hope you all liked it!!
