Chapter 10

Roxanna let out a horrific scream as they reached the shelter. On the outside of the thick building hung flayed bodies, blood painted the walls, bodies mutilated and strewn all over the ground. Nina hugged the small child she carried closer to herself instinctively as she seen children amongst the dead. Tatsu quickly held his hand over the girl's mouth to silence her panicked scream, he tensed as he viewed the dishonorable sight. Anger bubbled within him. The display was a sign of disrespect of the Yautja code, Tatsu began scanning all spectrums for a sign of these abominations.
The sniveling ooman boy began running for the compound, pleading loudly to be let in. It triggered Roxanna to chase after him breaking free of Tatsu's grasp, calling him back. As the boy reached a couple of yards before the door he was jolted back to a stand still. Blood wept from his back, then a shimmer showing the spear. Piercing him right through. Roxanna screamed as she stopped in fear. She ducked in defense as the big guy, so quickly appeared in front of her, catching what appeared to be another invisible spear. He skillfully swung it around and tossed it back, he must of hit his target because she heard a loud roar come from somewhere.
"Nina! Take them to the compound, get inside." He called, as he ran forward ahead of the group.
"Quickly!" Nina shouted, running as fast as she could with the other humans. Her three male companions shot off ready for battle. Reaching the door she let Roxanna pound on the door, it felt like an eternity before the loud creaking of the extremely heavy door opened. "Take your sister, I must join my brothers." Nina frantically shoved the now crying child to Roxanna. The girl grabbed Nina's arm to try and stay her but there was no need. Tatsu and the Youngbloods reappeared and drug a captive behind them. They pushed past the girls and other oomans as the door closed behind them.
The captive was skillfully tied and subdued before he regained consciousness. The Yautja could smell the fear from the oomans all over. Endymion became defensive releasing his wrist blades as he realized they were surrounded by the dangerous prey, as did Mizuhara. Tatsu assessed the surroundings as Nina came to stand next to her comrades. The situation was entirely unpleasant, they were greatly outnumbered. Several civilians with rifles had circled around them now, sights pointed and ready to fire.
"Wait! Wait!" Roxanna ran into the circle, her hands stretched out. "They are not one of them, the big guy saved my baby sister and I." She looked at the monstrous group she was defending.
"Tell them to dispatch their weapons." A tall lanky woman said. Her sights were set on Tatsu. Nina observed the way she carried herself and her firearm, she had definitely been a marine once.

Nina removed her bio mask. "Please, lower YOUR weapons. We are not here to harm you, only get answers to questions. Have you never heard the expression of don't poke the bear?"
The woman spoke. "Those things," She motioned up and down with her riffle. "Slaughtered this settlement with their monstrous creatures. What makes you think we will let you in here with open arms?" She glared.
"If you want to live I suggest lowering your weapons. We are not apart of the group who did this." Nina frankly spoke.
The woman kept her sights on the aliens for a few silent moments before lowering her weapon, the others lowered theirs on command. The Yautja quickly disarmed as well. "You better have answers or else." She threatened.
"That's why we are here." Nina looked down at the subdued hostage. Nina kicked the unconscious beast, awakening it.

Tatsu bent down, coming face to face with the Bad Blood. "Who are you, and how are you using your hard meats? How many of you are there." He grilled.
The response was a laugh, Tatsu punched the fool several times, breaking his bio mask revealing the face of a monster to the humans for the first time. The shock was heard in loud repulsed gasps around the room, Nina glared.
The bad blood coughed and spat blood at Tatsu's feet. "Why so harsh?" He mocked.
"You're an abomination! Killing innocents, running lucid with the serpents. Who are you." Tatsu boomed.
The Bad Blood shrugged. "We are testing out our handy new dogs on these ooman's. Just smell them." He looked at the ragged crowd of people. "They smell of filth, and shit. Fear and weakness." He growled. "You smell it, you see it. Eradicate the lesser species, and next...." His mandibles spread. "We go to home world, and kill your precious new Emperor, just as we were hired to do." He laughed again.
Tatsu felt hot rage burn through him. "Who hired you?" He tried to remain calm.
"Why the elder council, lead by the member Akane." He said smugly, thinking it was an honor. "The council is none to pleased with the new ruler, he's gotten a taste for ooman. And society calls my clan and others Bad Bloods." He scoffed.
Tatsu straightened now. Towering over the hostage. "Aye, Tis true. He's been with a ooman. He even overthrew his predecessor for the little thing."
"You see, our clan will take care of your abomination and his little whore. Let me go brother, and I will let you leave here. Go back to your ship and leave us to our business. It's only a test run on these filthy life forms." He was enthusiastic.
Tatsu squatted to face him on his level again. He began to laugh, deep and rich his voice registered to Nina and Roxanna. Nina smirked when the girl looked at her, extremely confused upon hearing this all. "You see.....you see I.... we are Emperor Wahkan's former clan members." The smirk faded from the Bad Bloods face. "And that.." he pointed at Nina. "Will be your Empress." He slapped him on the back. "Now why don't you tell her again what you think she is." He stood up when Nina approached.
"You are a filthy wretched whore. We look forward to killi.." his words were cut short as Nina rang her blade down, decapitating him. She kicked his head. "Who's the wretch now."
"Come now Nina! You didn't let me tell him I've been your mate too." Tatsu jested. "It would have had him trying to bite me." He chuckled.
"You are a brute." Nina kicked him, their banter was interrupted.
"What does any of this mean?" Roxanna blurted out.
"We leave! We must get back to our ship and contact the clan. Leave the ooman's to their fate. We must contact Wahkan." Endymion hissed.
"Aye, agreed." Tatsu said as he looked quickly at the girl and away again.
