Chapter 11

The world seemed to stand still as Nina looked shockingly into the biomask of Wahkan. No one existed but the two of them at that moment. He stayed kneeling before her. Overwhelmed with emotions, Nina couldn't fight back the tears. She hastily took her own biomask off.
"Wahkan..." Nina voiced breathlessly.
Wahkan stood gracefully, he grabbed her pressing her tightly to him. His hand instinctively snaked into her hair, his churr drowned out her sobs against his chest. He spoke softly into her ear. "I don't want the worlds to turn without you, nor do I want the suns to burn without you. I'll give you everything I have. I'll teach you everything I know. I promise I'll do better. I will always hold you close." He engulfed her in his arms, taking in her scent, that alluring scent of hers he missed so achingly much. He felt whole feeling her softness where he was hard. He didn't want to let her go afraid she'd disappear.

Nina finally controlled her emotions enough to look back up at him. "Wahkan, the door!" She looked wide eyed past him. "There's so much we must tell you! You... you are in danger being here." Everything came rushing into her mind, panic began to bubble from within her.
Tatsu approached. "My Lord." Was all he managed to get out before Wahkan whirled on the slightly bigger male. Backhanding him hard enough for the larger male to stumble to his knee. The males growled at one another. Wahkan stooped low, arms flared in challenge. As Tatsu was beginning to stand the sound of a gun cocking disrupted the would be fight. The entire clan turned to the sound. Every laser focused on Sam who was pointing her gun not at the fighting males, but at Nina.
"I told you if you pulled anything I'd blow your fuckn brains out." Sam glared at Nina. "Your little party here just blew down our only defense against this entire nightmare! Now we are exposed and also exposed to whatever alien shit they're up too." Her finger touched the trigger.
Nina breathed deep, trying to stay calm. "Sam lower your weapon. I'd hate to see you get killed." Nina stated matter of factly. "If anything you are more safe now with them here." She stepped closer.
The whole room was quiet, people were huddled together terrified. All were tired from their ordeals, unsure of which woman to trust.
Wahkan's sultry voice vibrated through Nina as he spoke. "Tell the woman the ic'jit (Bad Blood) have been executed." He stood tall and regal.
"My Lord! They have serpents in their control." Mizuhara spoke.
"Yes I know. Concador is leading a party to eradicate any strays we have missed, they aren't the hard meats we are used to fighting. Slower and less intelligent it seems. We ran into the u'darahje (abominations) already." He faced Nina once more, she could feel his eyes on her through his mask. "I wanted nothing to disrupt my reunion with my mate." He emphasized the word. "So tell that animal her people are safe." He grunted.
Nina turned to the edgy woman. "The problem has been dealt with, you and your people are safe." Nina relayed the message.
Sam shrugged on edge. "Just like that? How do we know you won't slaughter us?"
"Shall I kill her my Lord?" A darker in color male asked from the group of warriors.
"She's telling the truth." Roxanna spoke up trying to help defuse the situation as she came to stand by Nina. She stole a quick glance at Tatsu before looking at Sam. "He's said he's taken care of everything.." she turned and looked at Wahkan, "though we are not animals." She said defiantly. The big male eyed her surprised and curious...she could understand them.
