Chapter 12

Wahkan lay silently with the small naked form sleeping peacefully pressed up against him. He had slept little for that is all he needed. He had mated with Nina several times and discussed many things. He was entirely irritated she begged for mercy on Tatsu's behalf. She pledged her mind, body and soul to him several times. A small knock and entrance to his sleeping quarters interrupted his thoughts. One of his guards quietly spoke.
"The clan is ready to meet my Lord." And with a small head bow he left.
Wahkan got up and began dressing. He awoke Nina to get dressed as well, she hurriedly adorned her outfit in silence. It was time for a council meeting.

The ship was filled with heat as all the Yautja met in the large room. Wahkan's symbolic throne sat on a dais, he had a smaller seat for Nina to be at his side. She looked over the crowd and spotted Tatsu in the back with Endymion and Mizuhara. She felt nervous for she knew this was judgement day for her friends due to her follies. She may have felt nervous but looking at her three comrades they appeared to be as calm and cool as ice. Yautja have no fear, Nina reminded herself.
"Tatsu, come forward." She heard the big yellow and black male speak from the bottom of the dais. Tatsu coolly walked through the parting crowd to stand before his leader. He bent to his knee acknowledging the authority. He looked at the floor in submission.

"Stand." Wahkan spoke as he gestured him to stand with his hand. Tatsu stood tall and unafraid. "My blooded brother, we have been brothers since the beginning of our training as pups." Wahkan spoke calmly. "I made you my right hand when I earned the Dark Blade Clan. Following the rules setup by our elders... OUR ancestors Dark and Spartan; but you challenged me from the beginning to pursue my Mate." Wahkan's voice grew a little hostile. "Do you wish to challenge me now for the right to claim my mate as your own?" Wahkan challenged.
Tatsu stood quietly for a moment, his hands behind his back. He tilted his head for a moment when he looked at the silent Nina. She knew he read the fear and anxiety all over her face. Finally he shook his head. "No Wahkan, I do not wish to challenge my leader over a female. As tempting as it may be I am loyal to you and your command. I do not regret my service to your mate. I assisted her with her Genesis of a stronger mind and body. Your mate needed healing and so she has. Now she shall make us all a fine warrior queen." Tatsu looked over all of the gathered Yautja. "Do not let your feelings towards oomans cloud your judgement. Remember Nina was the reason Wahkan is here today, and one of only three recorded to have slain the ancient Queen Mother serpent. Respect her strength and judgement. She has the blood of Spartan flowing through her veins now, she is as Yautja as you and I now but in body." There was some gasps and chatter at the statement. Tatsu turned back to Wahkan again. "Now you may judge me as to what you see fit. I only did as I was commanded by my queen, am I not correct?"
Wahkan sat back in his chair thinking. "I suppose you are correct." Wahkan nodded. Nina breathed a sigh of relief. "There's only one other matter to address." Nina held her breath again.

Wahkan waved forward for something. The Yautja clicked and trilled drowning out any other sound. Nina gasped as two guards pulled in the kicking blonde. Tatsu tensed as they threw her to the ground before Tatsu's feet. Loosing his stoic cool he bent before the girl checking if she was alright before growling at the guards. He turned swiftly to look at his leader still kneeling next to the girl unconsciously in a protective stance.
"What is the meaning of this!?" He hissed.
Wahkan ignored Tatsu. "Do you understand us girl?" He addressed Roxanna.
Roxanna blinked her big blue eyes wide with fright. She looked at Nina then at the big male next to her but was to scared to speak tears welled up in her eyes. Wahkan gave a silent command and several Yautja fell upon Tatsu to subdue him while another came for the now screeching Roxanna. Nina sat up.
"Stop this at once Wahkan!" But he held up his hand to silence her.
The guard pushed Roxanna's head forward none to gently making her cry out. They showed the small circular disk implanted to her neck. Tatsu heaved and fought the males that desperately tried to subdue him, tossing several to the ground. He came to the guard that mishandled the girl and swung hard, knocking him back into the surrounding crowd. Tatsu crouched over the girl releasing his wrist blades with a deadly slicing sound,
"Leave the girl be!" He hissed at Wahkan.
"The girl wears our technology, she's yours now after your display of protectiveness." The sentence made Tatsu stand quickly.
"No!" Tatsu growled.
"It's that or death, you know that; she carries our technology. The choice is yours." Nina watched Tatsu sigh and withdraw his wrist blades in defeat. He looked down at Roxanna. "I'll take her." He ground out. The girl cried. "I'll have Endymion and Mizuhara take her to say her goodbyes, then take her to my ship to prepare for departure." He glared. "Is that all my lord?" His tone now icy.
"Yes, you may leave." He nodded.
Tatsu pushed past the crowd and left as the Youngblood's escorted the frightened crying girl behind him.

The Yautja dispersed after the small trial. Preparing to leave the planet. Concador had confirmed all was clear and the oomans could continue there lives. The Bad Bloods had either been eradicated or fled. They would resume council on the bigger matters at hand once they had left.
Nina was alone with Wahkan. She glared daggers at her mate. "What was that! That girl is innocent! Do not force this life on her." Nina spoke.
"My Nina, it was either force her on Tatsu or kill the poor girl. I will not leave our technology to the hands of oomans. That is law. I spared her life, gave my brother something to do with his time and you a companion." He shrugged.
Nina hesitated processing her thoughts. "She's not a survivor Wahkan! She's just a girl." Nina pleaded. Though having another woman to confide in was tantalizing Nina hated to think subjecting another to this cold, hard life.
"Then teach her, and Tatsu can train her. Obviously she is a survivor, she survived the massacre of her people, did she not? Besides Tatsu obviously harbors some sort of softness for the girl or else he wouldn't have reacted as such. It'll make you happy in the mean time my treasure." He caressed her face. "I do not forget your tears for when I become busy. I'd rather have you seek her company than my blooded brother. Do not judge me to harshly for my feelings Nina." His voice was softer.
Nina could almost laugh at him. He admitting in a way that his actions were based on jealousy. She couldn't blame him to harshly for her actions gave reason to his. She submitted to his idea. She leaned into his caressing hand and sighed.
"Wahkan..."
"Yes my little jewel?" He pressed her against him.
"I ask you, may we return to our planet where we first met? Take some time to train the girl at least basic survival. Take a moment to breathe before returning to home world?" Her green eyes stared up at him.
"The planet is most likely inhabited now remember." He furrowed his brow.
"It will be Wayland-Yutani people. Scientists, marines. All looking for serpents and Yautja." She pulled out of his embrace and started to walk away. She turned smiling. "Burn them all and reclaim our planet." She began walking away again.
Wahkan's mandibles flared in excitement, he felt swelling in his loins as he began to follow Nina. Yes, our planet.
