the confront.

Preeta was angst after the super heated session in her room. Karan left the moment; Preeta had blamed him for everything they did. After a lot of calming herself, she looked out for Amyra and Ayaan who had still not returned to the room.

When she looked out of the window in the snowy garden – she found none. Taking this as a caution, she immediately put on her muffler and black boots and closed the door behind. When she was passing by Karan's room – she heard laughs and noises. With a curious glance at his door, she pushed – she tested the door whether it's opened or not and alas! It is indeed opened.

"Amyra?" she questioned as she looked at her daughter and Ayaan quietly playing with each other.

"Mom!" Amyra yelled as she jumped out of the couch and hugged Preeta's waist. Preeta sighed deeply and kissed Amyra's hair.

"Why didn't you come back to room, Amyra arora?" Preeta asked, looking at her and Amyra rolled her eyes.

"Chill, ma. Karan uncle fetched me and Ayaan to his room – with lots of scolding at us and you don't start now," Amyra said and Preeta averted her gaze towards Karan who was presently sprawled across the bed, with a novel on his face. Preeta rolled her eyes at him and again looked at Amyra.

"Amyra and Ayaan, you both come with me," she told them both and they whined.

"Where to?"

Preeta frowned, "to my room, kids."

They both huffed, before bracing themselves. They took their toys and whatever the stuff they need and followed Preeta behind.

Preeta motioned them to play in the room. She even asked them to order anything they want to and do not step out of this room. They agreed eventually and she locked the door safely and put the key in her back pocket.

She closed the door of Karan's room and sat beside him. She slowly removed the book from his face and smiled when she looked at his face. He was snoring lightly and she put her cold palm on his cheek and he moved his head slightly.

After what felt like an eternity – Karan woke up from his beauty sleep. In between his nap, Preeta visited Ayaan and Amyra, to find them sleep. When she was coming out of her room – she bumped into Mrs. Lucy and chatted with her for a while and asked her to stay in her room – monitoring on those both; for which Mrs. Lucy gladly agreed.

"What are you doing here?" Asked Karan and Preeta shrugged.

"I want to talk," she said and he rolled his eyes.

"Are you serious? After all the argument we had done in your room? Don't you think, it's too late to 'talk now' and shit?" Karan quoted with his fingers.

"I know, it's too late and all, but why now?" Preeta exactly jumped into the point, without being tangent.

"What do you mean by, 'why now', I mean I should be the person asking you this. Don't you think, Arora?"

Preeta snorted, before slamming her fist on the table and turning towards his him. "All I meant is," she took a deep breath, "why now? Why not before? Why do you want make me yours – now. Why not try it seven years before, Amyra was born?"

It caught him off-guard. He couldn't stutter a word. He couldn't, because – how can he, when he is asking himself the same from past eight days?

Preeta scoffed. "That's what I thought," saying this before she got up to leave. With one last glance at him, she left – closing the door, leaving a despondent Karan behind.

After the dinner was eaten – Preeta found herself sitting on one of the bench in the garden, with a book and pen in her lap. She was gazing at the ravishing night sky with full of stars and a full moon, peeking right at her. She had always been the person who had utmost love for the nights or the skies in the dark color. She had found solace in them and the color, black – was her happy color.

She wrote down few lines about what was she going through. She couldn't determine it. She wanted answers. From herself.

"I think I have an answer."

She exactly knew – whose voice it is. She needs not to turn to see the person. She sighed slowly and the space beside her was now filled with the person.

"I need answers." She whispered and he gulped down. She turned towards him – her gaze still towards her gaze still on the night sky.

"Preeta, first you tell. Whatever it is," he said and she looked at him.

"I-I just don't know, Karan. I've been putting on this strong girl façade on my face and telling people, god knows what. I've been surviving these seven years – listening to people telling me what not. I've been bearing all this weight by myself and suddenly, I feel like I can't do this anymore. I don't know what the hell I am even doing with my life. I don't have a clue.

I feel exhausted. I feel tired. I feel toxic. I don't know why you left me that night and never seen my face. After seven years, we again met. Like I mean – we met. We spoke. We fought. We laughed. We played. We kissed. And I don't know what it is called. I don't know whether to laugh or cry at myself. I feel miserable.

I need to know why you left me, Karan Luthra. I need an answer. And do you honestly think, I believe when you said, you broke up with me just for a bet? That's pointless. That's irrelevant."

Karan looked at her with widened eyes. "I-I mean, h-how?"

Preeta scoffed for the millionth time today. "You freaking loved me, Karan! Just because I was pushing you away and telling the world, that I hate Karan Luthra – doesn't mean we had a past, Karan! I loved you, alright? I've seen you for two years. You always had that adoration and undying love for me and . . . I don't know, what had happened. I need answers, Karan."

Karan looked at her with the stars brightening in his eyes and for the third time in these seven years – her heart melted.

"Tomorrow's last day of the camp, Arora," he said, holding her hand, "I said you something, before. If I didn't win your heart by the end of the camp, I'll never see you again. Right?"

Preeta rolled her eyes, "You're changing the damm topic, Karan. I can't let you go without answer—"

Before she could speak, he placed a finger on her lips. "I'll tell you everything tomorrow, once you give answer to my question, Preeta. Tomorrow's the day – which decides, whether I'm leaving or either I'm staying."

With the last words, he left, leaving a confused Preeta behind.
