"He is a soldier. He works forthe queen. Let him die. He is no good to us." "We must do what wecan to help him. We will get answers when he is well. Bring me somewater Shakira and do not waste time."

Tristan opened his eyes to seeEliza standing over him dabbing at his wound with a warm wet rag. Thefairy held a pale of water and let Eliza wet the rag some more.Tristan groaned in pain as she touched the wound wanting her to stop.Someone had removed his shoulder armor from his chest and he lay onthe ground bare chested. Eliza did not seem to mind his bare chestand continued working on his wound. He tried to get up, but shegently pushed him back down.

Her army surrounded him withswords and bow an arrows in case he tried to attack their witch.Tristan looked for the knights he rode with, but all were gone. SirMerek was probably at the palace now telling the queen that he hadbetrayed them. Now he would be the next one she would hunt down forand have murdered.

He looked up at Eliza andstudied her blue eyes. She returned his stare and smiled a friendlysmile. Her hands were gentle and so was her smile. She did not lookas evil as her sister or the queen, but looked sad and tired.

"Thank you Sir Tristan forsaving my people. We are very grateful to you." She said trying tomake conversation.

"I am not a knight Eliza."

"You said your name was SirTristan."

He was not a knight yet, but hewanted her to know he was going to become one. He had made herbelieve that he was by not telling her the truth the minute he spokewith her the first time, but he ashamed for lying and doing evilwork. He liked Eliza and for some reason something inside pointed toher for him to care for. Was he in love with her?

"There was no time to trainme mam. She sent me out and told me to lie and I did. I apologize formy lies." Eliza smiled and moved his hair out of his face. Hertouch was soft and gentle.

"You are forgiven Tristan. You are a true knight to us for you saved our lives and did not carethat Sir Merek saw how you betrayed him. We promise to keep you safefrom the queen and her wrath." He thanked her and let her doctorhim.

The fairy seemed stuck onridding him of them, but Eliza would not have it. She grabbed his oldripped white shirt and held it out to him. He slowly sat up and tookthe shirt from her. She watched him curiously then poured him somewater in a cup. He studied her for a minute. The look on her facetold him that he had nothing to worry about. He took the water anddowned it never feeling so thirsty in his life.

"I am sparing your lifebecause I see the good in you. What I ask in return is that you tellme why the queen wants Eliza's power." The fairy said.

"I will tell you nothing."

"Why did you save usTristan?" Eliza asked before Shakira could continue. Tristan lookedat the fairy then at Eliza willing to tell her the truth.

"She is not what I thought. Isaw how evil she is and I am not a killer."

Anger boiled up in him. Angerat himself for saving her and anger for her not addressing him as SirTristan. In his heart, he was a knight and he wanted to be known thatway.

When he touched the sword, hefelt spirit flow through him and making him feel alive and safe. Hejerked his hand back shocked at the element that coursed through hisbody. He never felt any of the elements before and was surprised athow it felt. Eliza held what the queen wanted and he was beginning tosee what it was. He stood up as she walked off and called after her.
