Chapter 18 | Hey Look, We Match
"We're gonna be late Alora, hurry up" Vinnie tells through the car window."I'm coming, just a sec!", The boys had come to pick me up so we would all get breakfast but I had forgotten my Calculus book in my room. Thanks to me we had to cut breakfast short to come get my book and now we're gonna be late to first period.
"Looking for this?" Grant says holding my textbook in hand. His hair is messy and his eyes barely open. Wearing only his pajama pants and my bunny slippers he yawns, the muscles on his chest flexing.
"Yes oh my god, where was it?"
"You left it on the dining table downstairs last night."
I grab the text book out his hand and start to put it inside my bag as I head down the stairs, "Thank you so much. I thought I had left it in my room."
"You'd lose your head if it wasn't attached to your neck. Why the big rush?"
I give him a small jokingly glare before grabbing my jacket back off the floor. "My friends are waiting for me outside, we're gonna be late." I head over to the door as Grant holds it open for me. The car parked down the driveway, both the boys looking over towards me.
As I start making my way over to the car I hear the door re-open to my house. I turn back around hearing my name, "Alora! Don't forget your head!". Grant jogs down to where I am with my phone in hand.
"Oh shoot, thanks Grant." I give him a kiss on the cheek, grab my phone, and and run towards the car. "Sorry I took so long guys, I'm ready now."
A smirk is on Vinnie's face while Elijah's face holds no amusement at all. "What's wrong?" I ask.
Vinnie holds in his chuckles, "Nothing. Just remembered something funny that's all. Elijah didn't find it as amusing as I did."
"Oh, okay. Anyways, I've got everything now. We can go."
"Who was that?" Elijah asks.
"Oh that's Grant. Remember? I just told you about him this morning. He's what the family meeting is about, he's finally back!"
"That's Grant? Why was he shirtless?"
"He just woke up I'm pretty sure." I stay silent for a moment before continuing, "Can we get going now? I really can't be late for Calc."
Elijah starts the car engine and gets going on the road to school. "You didn't tell us Grant looked like that." Vinnie said, amusement still in his voice.
"Look like what?" I ask. Vinnie says nothing but instead turns around and raises his eyebrows suggestively. "Oh god no! Grant and I have been friends forever, he's like a brother to me."
Vinnie shrugs, "Whatever you say Alora."
"He's just a friend guys. Can't girls and guys just be friends without there being anything else?"
Vinnie looks over at Elijah, "I don't know Elijah, can they?"
Elijah shrugs. I mimic his actions and continue talking, "I mean it's like Vinnie and me, we're just friends and he's not trying to get in my pants."
"Definitely not trying to get in your pants."
"See case and point. Just because you or Elijah are attractive doesn't mean I want to have sex."
"You think I'm hot?" Elijah says.
"Yeah but,"
"She definitely wants in your pants E. There's no denying it." Vinnie says.
