~Nine months later~

Stiles sighed as he walked into school and straight to his locker. He opened it and threw his stuff in before shutting his locker.

"Jeez-don't do that." He gasped, holding his chest as Scott was there.

"In the entire six years we've been here, I've done it to you twice, including this time." He chuckled.

"Yeah, but Y/N always complained about you doing it to her." He smiled. His eyes wavered and his smile slowly dropped as he realised what he'd just said. Scott sighed.

"How long has it been?" he asked. Stiles looked down and slammed his fist against his locker.

"Eight months, three weeks and one day." He mumbled.

"Not like you're counting." Scott spoke, making Stiles look at him.

"I can't help it. My girlfriend has been gone for almost nine months, without a single word. Or ex-girlfriend, I should say." He spoke, tears threatening to fall from his eyes as they walked into the library.

"So, you guys definitely broke up?" Scott asked. Stiles sighed as they put their stuff onto the table and he sat down.

"I have to assume so. The last thing she said to me was "I can't protect you anymore. I'm sorry". Then she disappeared the next day. I have to read that as she broke up with me." Stiles mumbled.

"But she's a korrigan, they make unbreakable links. Surely it would have hurt her if she had broken up with you." Scott reasoned. Stiles groaned and ran a hand through his gelled hair.

"That's only one of the questions I have for her. If I ever seen her again, that is." He choked. Scott sighed.

"I'm sorry, bro. I don't know what to say." He admitted. Stiles sighed and shook his head. Suddenly he realised something. He squinted his eyes.

"Did it ever occur to you that as soon as Y/N left, there were no more assassinations?" he asked. Scott looked at him.

"You think Y/N had something to do with it?" he asked. Stiles sighed.

"I don't know. I mean, she is extremely powerful, maybe she was acting like a beacon or something, so that assassins would come here." He thought out loud.

"What, you think Y/N brought them here?" Scott asked.

"Not intentionally, obviously. But she's the most powerful supernatural being I've ever met. Maybe the assassins were drawn to her." Stiles spoke. Scott nodded.

"Well I suppose all that matters is that the assassins aren't here anymore." He spoke. Stiles's eyes narrowed.

"Yeah, at the price of Y/N leaving too." He scoffed.

"Dude, you know I didn't mean it like that." Scott sighed. Stiles returned it and nodded as he looked down.

"Sorry. I just, I miss her so much. I still love her, but she doesn't even give that back anymore." He choked. Scott looked at him.

"What do you mean she doesn't love you anymore?" he asked.

"She's been gone for too long to still love me." Stiles mumbled.

"She's never going to stop loving you, Stiles." He scoffed. Stiles looked at him before narrowing his eyes again.

"Scott, Y/N hasn't spoken to me in nine months. Nine months without so much as a "hi" or a "how are you", not even a quick "hey, just letting you know I'm not dead." Nine months without a single word and you think she's still in love with me? You're wrong, Scott. As much as I hate to admit it, you're wrong." Stiles choked.
