It took only took us twenty seven and a half minutes to leave the apartment and run down to the subway. We would have been quicker, but I forgot my passport of all things so I had to run back and grab it.
Once we were on the train Syd and Liv got out the makeup bag and started beautifying me. There was a lot of work to do believe me. I looked down and realized that I looked like a slob. I was still wearing my grimy tshirt and Harry’s flannel shirt. Sydney, reading my thoughts, pulled off her own sweater in the middle of the subway for me to change into. We were so high on adrenaline that apparent half-nudity-on-public-transportation didn’t bother us.
We got off at Heathrow and ran to the departure gates. I scanned the schedule for flights departing to Melbourne, but the next flight was in three hours. Something was wrong. Harry’s flight was supposed to leave in 45 minutes, why wasn’t it on the screen? Oh right because the boy I was in love with happened to be 1/5 of 1D and therefore had the luxury of taking a private airplane.
“Guys, their flight wouldn’t be scheduled on here. It’s probably a private airline.” I said defeated.
Olivia on the other hand was not giving up. She ran up to a security guard and started frantically asking him questions, “Excuse me! Has the One Direction flight left yet??” She was waving her hand wildly as she spoke. The words One Direction caught the attention of passer bys and soon a small mob of girls were surrounded ht security guard and Olivia. All of them asking if they could see One Direction.
The security guard looked surprised, no actually frightened. Girls kept shouting questions. Eventually, Olivia squeezed her way out of the crowd and came back to join Sydney and I.
“So much for that tactic.” She said. I thought that meant we were giving up, but then a bright look crossed her face. “I can call Niall!”
“Oh my gosh Niall.” I said. “What even happened with you two? Are you a thing?” I asked remembering the night Liv went out with him. It seemed like ages ago.
“We’re just friends,” She said with the wave of a hand. She already had the phone pressed to her ear, only half paying attention to what I was asking her as if her going out with Niall James Horan was equivalent to talking about the weather. What a weirdo.
“Come on, pick up.” She pleaded. She looked like she was just about to hang up when I heard someone on the other line pick up. “Hey! Niall! I need you to do me a favour!” She was yelling every word she was saying.
“I need you to get Alix on that plane!” Her tone was frantic, it was making me very anxious.
“It’s important!” We were only hearing one side of the conversation, but I could only imagine the things Niall was saying about me.
“I’m serious she needs to talk to Harry right now!” Pause. Listening.
“Well get the pilot to stop the fucking plane!” I literally jumped at that. Liv NEVER swears.
“Okay.” More pausing. More listening.
“That could work.” She was visibly calmer now. I wondered what Niall had said to make Liv at least a little bit more sane.
“Okay talk soon. Bye.” She hung up and I looked at her expectantly and actually a little worried at what solution she was about to present to me.
