I froze.

"D-does Lyra know?" Alex looked dumbfounded for a minute. "You don't seem very surprised." He commented.

I shrugged. "At this point, what has he not done to sabotage my family and I?"

He smirked like a mad man. "No. Lyrasina Demandante has no clue about anything."

Huh, is that what it's short for? I never knew.

"Why are they my godparents if my father was being targeted by Clyde?"

"Your father promised you to me when you were a babe. He told me that if anything were to happen to you, you'd come with me. But with both Maxime and Clyde trying to kill your father, I wasn't able to get to you first."

"But now, you're all mine! And I'll be damned if I lose you to this mongrel!"

I gasped as he suddenly grabbed my legs and pulled me underneath him. He placed his hands on either side of my head.

"Eripias me clam!"

I gasped, as he dug his nails into me, and our surroundings dissapeared. I clenched my eyes tight, and held onto Alex's shirt like a lifeline.

"Open your eyes."

My eyes slowly opened, and I gasped. He picked me up, and set me down on my feet.

"Alex? Where did you take me?" He pulled me closer to him, and buried his nose in my neck. "Somewhere far, far away. Where they can't separate us."

I stared at the view from the glass house. Here it was the evening, as the sky was dyed violet and orange. This place had a lovely view of grass covered fields and lovely flowers from this glass shelter.

"Alex? Please don't tie me up again, please."

He smiled, and kissed my forehead. "I won't, only if you don't fight. Be docile for me, darling. "

I shivered at the thought of being his darling.

"Okay..." I sat on the soft gray couch, playing with the hem of my shirt.

"Would you like food? I'm sure you're hungry." He stepped away to the kitchen.

So...how to get out of here? How do they do it in the movies? I tried to recount one of the very few Dateline episodes I've seen.

Aha! Act all the sweet and compliant, until he eats out of your hand. Then, elbow him in the stomach, kick him in the shin, and when he's down, go for the nards!

I giggled on the couch, which caused him to stick his head out of the cutaway window.

"What's so funny over there?"

"O-oh, ummm..." I bit my bottom lip. C'mon Silver! Where's your wit?

"A...uhhh...bird pecked at the window!"

He gave a disbelieving look.

"A bird."

I nodded profusely. "Mhm!"

He shrugged, and continued in the kitchen. I stared at the view from the window, before a savory scent hit my nose and made my stomach grumble.

"Here we are, a steak and cheddar panini, and a cup of hot tea, one sugar."

"Thank you!" I beamed, downing half the tea instantly.

He gave a insidious smirk.
