Ha Joon gripped his notebook tightly in his fingers. His colored pencils he kept tucked deep in his pocket. With his head low he barreled down the street toward his destination. Which at this moment was anywhere but home. He had to get out of his house. It wasn't that his parents were saying anything to him, it's that they weren't saying anything to him. His parents had not been happy when he had asked to be transferred. It meant more money for uniforms, new costs for different books, new transportation logistics and numerous other complaints they could come up with. Up until the day he left his last school they kept asking if he couldn't just ignore what was happening. To put his head in the sand, and drown from the misery.

It wasn't like they couldn't afford to move him to a new school. Ha Joon didn't come from a poor family. They weren't rich, but they weren't struggling to get by. Instead, his parents believed in conformity above all else. His mother was a stay at home mother, his father was a mid-level office worker. Almost a manager but never to be one. They lived in a two bedroom apartment in a complex of hundreds of other apartments. They shopped at the same stores as everyone else, bought the same products as everyone else, voted the same as everyone else, behaved the same as everyone else.

The normality of it all drove Ha Joon insane. He needed his drawings as an escape, though his parents didn't approve. They would rather he spent all his free time studying. Even if he'd already inserted himself near the top of the class at the new school, they wanted more. Be quiet and study. That was his life.

Ha Joon rounded a corner, and like a light shining down from heaven, a final destination appeared before him. An ice cream shop. With all the extra exercising Woo Jin had been putting him through he could afford to splurge a little on some extra calories.

The sweet smell of cold sugar hit his nose as he opened the door. With a quick adjustment of his glasses, he scanned the rows of flavors at the counter. He picked out two of his favorites, and had them put into a cup. Easier to eat while drawing. With ice cream in hand he picked a table far from the door, set out his notebook and pencils, and prepared to start drawing. He had not drawn more than three lines when a familiar voice cut across the shop stopping him cold.

"Eun Yi stop. I don't want ice cream." Woo Jin whined as he stepped into the store.

"But I do sweetie, and you're going to buy me some."

Ha Joon shifted himself down in his chair while standing his notebook on end, pushing it in front of his face. He leaned to one side to peak out and keep a close eye on Woo Jin. Woo Jin had his back to him staring down at the row of ice creams flavors. He was wearing a pair of black jeans and a blue and white striped polo shirt. Ha Joon realized he'd never seen Woo Jin in anything but his school uniform. Regular clothes made him even more handsome. Ha Joon wrinkled his nose. What good is handsomeness when you are fighting down a slithering snake out to destroy you.

Next to Woo Jin stood the pretty girl he had come in with. She stood about a head shorter than Woo Jin. Her straight dark hair was cut short to her shoulders. She was wearing a long blue tee-shirt over a short white skirt. Her arm was linked with Woo Jin's as she slid down the front counter looking at the choices pulling Woo Jin along.

"You know what I like. Pick something for me. I can't decide." The girl leaned into Woo Jin, snuggling into his shoulder.

"Fine those two."

"Ugh, god no. When have I ever eaten those? Nevermind. I'll take these two flavors. And Woo Jin, for you?"

"I said I didn't want any." Woo Jin stopped. He had turned around just enough to lock eyes with Ha Joon peaking at him from behind his notebook. "On second thought, just give me a scoop of that." Woo Jin pointed to a flavor blindly. "Let's eat here." Ha Joon sunk even further in his chair. His head hidden completely behind his notebook.
