Jac and Sacha began making their way over towards the crowds, Fletch still trying to seem interested in the current conversation with the two boring pretty women who were trying to hit on him at the same time as he watched Jac walk across the gravelled car park, hips swaying gracefully.
"Sorry girls, I'll catch up with you later." He said, cutting one of them off and dashed across to his favourite pair of friends.
"Heyyyy look at us, it's almost like we colour coordinated!" Fletch seemed overjoyed as they approached him, gesturing between their two bodies to point out his red shirt paired with a navy blue tie which coincidentally matched her red outfit which she had paired with a navy blue jacket. The surgeon rolled her eyes but couldn't hide her smile.
"Mm yeah." She laughed at his childish outburst of fascination.
"Alright Sacha? How's it going?" He greeted the other surgeon with a friendly clap on his upper arm and a bright smile.
"It's going good now thanks, shame we lost Gary though. Miss the little bugger waking me up earlier than Emma you know." Sacha replied with a chuckle. "I'm sure he's happy with Petrenko for company instead now though. She's probably got more time for him than either me or Jac."
"We'll get you your very own nuisance for Christmas then won't we Jac?" Fletch winked at her jokingly and turned the conversation down a different path. "I think everyone is going inside now, are you both coming to grab a seat?"

They didn't have to wait long - Jac sitting on the end closest to the aisle with Fletch then Sacha next to her - before the bridal party made their entrance. The trio spun round in their seats to see little Emma, being the youngest, stood smiling in front of all the older bridesmaids with her bouquet clutched tightly in her tiny hands. Fletch watched as Jac hurriedly wiped away a stray tear of pride and reached over to squeeze her thigh through her dress. Absentmindedly, she moved her hand over to cover his larger one. Sacha caught sight of the movement out of the corner of his eye and smiled like a proud brother. Just get it together you too will you, he wanted to shout at the pair but he knew they had their reasons for keeping it purely friendly.

The congregation watched eagerly as the bride eventually made her way down the aisle to meet Jonny Maconie at the altar and strained their ears to hear the vows which they made quietly to each other. When the painfully slow part for Jac was over, her daughter came bounding over and into her arms.
"Mummy mummy did you see me?!" The five year old asked excitedly.
"Yes baby, you look beautiful!" Her mother replied giving her a kiss on the head. Emma then threw herself into Fletch's arms and gained yet another kiss on her head and then the same again with Sacha. "Well done Darling!"

Everyone gathered outside a little later for photos and then made their way over to where the reception was being held. The enormous ballroom was decorated with balloons and bunting, all in different pastel shades of blue, pink, yellow and green. To match there were several tables scattered across the room, each with pastel coloured flowers as a centre piece.
"Ugh." Jac shivered in disgust at the girly choice of colours.
"Is it a bit too pink for your liking?" Fletch whispered over her shoulder with a small chuckle.
"It looks like a flipping baby shower." She hissed back.
"You'll feel different when it's your own." He muttered, leaving a gap between them far enough for her not to hear.
