So the reader is human, but he has a Inkling body, like in the avatar movie where they had those alien clone bodys, the base he woke up in has a AI that has evolved, a ghost in the shell kinda thing, but shes super geeky, which is why the avatar thing is made because the base stored knowledge of all kinds of things, from movies to games, and science to fantasy.
For the past year the reader has lived in Inkopolis in his Inkling body, sense the events of Octo expansion, which a signal from Tartar is what made the Bases AI decide to set the reader free.
But the things the Great Zapfish is gone again, but Octavio is still in his snowglobe, and sightings of weird colored Octarians have been seen in Octo valley. Now it's up to the reader and a new agent, along with the past agents to fight back these new forces, save these Sanitized octarians, the Great Zapfish, and stop Tartars new plan to wipe out the new world.
The readers main weapon is a Roller, a special one that doubles as a sharp shot.
