The reader uses a belt similar to the wizardriver from kamen rider wizard, but it doesnt have the 'shabadoobie touch to henshin' jingle in the left hand position, instead that hand position allows for spells to be done with the left hand as well. All other sounds, those of the spell and familiar rings, are still used. The reader does indeed have a phantom, that of a nine tailed fox. More or less, hes like kamen rider wizard without the suit, and uses spell rings to use element based magic. He appears first helping a malnourished 12 year old girl, homeless and close to death, she would later be kidnapped and become a mutate like Talon, Maggie, and the others. The way the reader encounters the gargoyles is up to you, you could have him appear during an existing episode, or create your own original episode.

I'd probably have their first encounter be the one they encounter the mutates. Maggie, along with the malnourished girl, who we will call Sophie, escape Gen-u-tech. The reader was actually investigating the disappearances of the homeless, which included Sophie. He has also been investigating the appearances of the gargoyles, believing that they might be Phantoms. When he spots two shadows head into a alley way he gets a suspicious sense of curiosity and heads towards said alley, when he gets there he spots Maggie, Sophie, Broadway, and Brooklynn. The reader can clearly see that they are not Phantoms, and that Broadway and Brooklynn are simply Gargoyles, but is completely lost with what the other two are. He heads in to confront them, but suddenly the Mercenaries from Gen-U-Tech show up. He uses the defend ring and backs up to the four, and he is able to instantly recognize Sophie despite her changes. Gen-U-Tech is only able to retrieve Maggie, as the reader escapes with Sophie.  While the reader is no Einstein when it comes to genetics, he is fully aware that it is impossible to reverse such a genetic modification, as it destroyed and removed important parts of the original DNA structure, and removing what replaced it would simply destroy them, reducing them to lifeless piles of flesh. The reader realizes that Gen-U-Tech are the ones responsible for the disappearances and chooses to break into the base and save the other people their.
