9| Pinky Promises

Colby waited until his dad came and pick him up. A familiar car pulled up. His dad came out of his car and greeted Colby "Hey Colby!"

"Hey dad" Colby said hugging his dad. The trunk popped open, he put his duffel bag inside, close the trunk then sit in the passenger seat. All the way to his house they talk about how Vee was doing. His dad admit that Vee wasn't doing good after Colby left.

Then they park into the driveway. Colby open the front door forgetting his duffel bag in the car. His mom turns around and she have a stern look on her face. "Vee! Come down here" His mom yelled. She quietly get down.

"Nana?" She called getting into the kitchen. "In the living room!" His mom yelled softly again. She ran to the living room but stop as she sees Colby. "DADA!" She yelled jumping into his arm. He hug her tightly until she pat his back a sign of to let her go a bit. "Oh my god! Look at you" Colby said kissing her cheek.

"Dada no leave me no more" She said in Colby's neck. "No I'm not" Colby said rubbing her back. His mom stand there silently watching the two getting reunited.

His dad came in with Colby's duffel bag. "Thanks dad" Colby said taking the duffel bag with his other hand while he has Vee in his arm. They both walk upstairs and get into Colby's room.

"Do you think it's a good idea of letting Vee go with Colby?" His mom ask his dad who was  sitting on the couch. "Well do you trust him?" His dad ask flipping the news paper pages he was reading early.

"Yes of course" His mom said nodding her head. "Well if you trust him then it was a good idea to let her go with Colby, She was his daughter after all" His dad explains. His mom just sigh.

As Colby and Vee walk up to Colby's room they both have a normal conversation. "And- and then- I fall" Vee stutter as she remembers the incident the day she was grumpy.

"Aw my baby" Colby cooed as he get on his bed with Vee. "Dada no leave me okay?" She said shaking her head. "I'm not baby, I promise" Colby said. "Promise?" Vee said pulling out her pinky to have a pinky promise with Colby.

"Promise" Colby said as his finger wrapped around Vee's chubby pinky. "Okay" She said just hugging him. They laid down on the bed. "Where Uncle Sammy?" Vee ask.

"He's working" Colby said. Vee nodded as she put her head on Colby's chest. Colby kissed her head softly. "I love you" Colby said. It was the sentence that Vee was waiting since the day Colby left. "I wove you too" Vee mumbled as she fell asleep on his chest. Colby smiled then drift off too.
