This story takes place in both the Feudal era, where I happen to come from, and the 'present'. Whenever that may be, I have yet to find out.

Who am I? Well, my name is Kiri and I'm the second child of the demon lord Inu no Taisho and my mother Inukimi. My father was killed years ago and my mother I don't see that often. I take to visiting her once a year. She's a pretty intimidating woman sometimes so I tend to steer clear. My older brother is named Sesshomaru and my younger brother, with whom we don't share the same mother, is named Inuyasha. I usually share my time equally with them and love them both dearly. I'm pretty confident to say that they share my sentiment, though not with each other sadly.

As for what I look like; I'm like my older brother really, just shorter and way more feminine obviously. I don't act much like him though. I'm open minded and laid back when I feel comfortable. And I do like a good laugh from time to time. I can fight though, but sadly I'm not as though as Sesshomaru is, who is my shining role model when it comes to that kind of thing. Sadly, I do have a bit of a temper that sometimes gets in the way. Inuyasha got that from me, although he took it one step further. Lastly, I'm rather fearless. Blame my curiosity for that. I'm willing to try anything and never pass up a challenge. Well, enough talk. I have important stuff to do.

I sigh as I finally spot my friend coming over the horizon. "What took you so long?" I ask impatiently when she reaches me. "What are you talking about? I'm right on time." she defends, motioning to the rising sun. "Huh? I guess you are. Sorry, I'm just so excited." I apologize, rubbing the back of my neck embarrassed. She smiles at me. "That's fine."

Suddenly she looks worried. "Something wrong Kagome?" She swallows. "I just hope Sesshomaru won't find out..." I roll my eyes at her fear. "Don't worry about that. If he does, I will take full responsibility. It was my idea after all." She nods hesitantly. "True. But, I'm not sure that he will forgive even you for coming with me." she states. I shrug. "No matter. Now that Naraku's gone, I finally want to have some fun. He can't blame me for that after all what happened." Kagome sighs, looking thoughtful. "Well, if you're sure... Come on." she says, leading the way to the Bone Eaters well.

We arrive there in no time at all and I look into the darkness of the old well. "Okay, hold onto me." she says getting ready to jump in. I look at her boredly. "You're so slow Kagome." I protest as I throw her on my back making her let out a squeak in fear. "Let's go already. I've been waiting forever." I say impatiently before jumping in.

Soon, blue lights swirl around us. It's pretty, but I hardly care about that. It's what's on the other side that really interests me.

After years of nagging Kagome to let me see her world, she finally caved in. So, in total secrecy, we arranged a time and place to meet so as not to alarm my brothers, whom definitely wouldn't approve mind you. Inuyasha has no right to speak against it though, as far as I'm concerned. He goes all the time and he was the one to make me curious in the first place. So basically, it's all his fault.

Once we land safely on the bottom, I look up to see total darkness. "Are we there?" I ask in wonder. "Yes. Could you let me down now?" Kagome asks annoyed. "Sure, as soon as we're out of here." I tell her before jumping out the well.

After putting Kagome down, she walks over to some steps, ascends them and slides a heavy wooden door open. The sun that is let inside is making me squint a bit. I'm quick to follow though. I just can't wait.

Stepping outside, I take a big whiff of the smell of this world and listen to all the sounds carefully. "This place is noisy and smells weird." I state dully, making Kagome shake her head in disdain. "Well, it is way more populated than the Feudal era. Anyway, let's go inside first. I bet there is tons of stuff to keep you interested for the day." she states, walking towards a medium sized building not far off.

"When are we going to explore though?" I ask as I follow her. "Let's get you settled in first. Are you sure you didn't want to take anything with you before you came here?" she asks, looking me over. I came with only the clothes on my back, a kimono that is, and the sword I usually carry. "No way. They would have noticed right away. It was too risky, besides, you have stuff." I explain, referring to by brothers as I smile sweetly. "Sure." Kagome sighs, sweatdropping.

Opening the door she calls out, "I'm home!"

"Hi sweetie, I'm in the kitchen." comes a female's voice from the next room. Following Kagome to her kitchen, I spot a middle-aged lady there. "Oh, you brought your friend over." she states, smiling happily as she puts down the cooking utensils.

"Hello, I'm Kagome's mother, just call me mama. You must be Kiri. It's so nice to meet Inuyasha's sister in person. He told us a lot about you." she says, bowing slightly. "Nothing bad I hope." I say, bowing back politely. "Not at all dear, he really looks up to you." she says knowingly, making me smile.

"I'm sorry, please take a drink while I finish cooking. I'm making special cakes, as today is a festival day. I suppose you will join in on the festivities?" she asks as she gets back to cooking. "That's the plan. Kagome though I would blend in better." Mama nods in understanding as I turn to Kagome.

"What was it again? Pretend everything is normal unless you less you tell me otherwise?" Kagome smiles, nodding in confirmation. "That's right. At least you get it. Inuyasha makes a fool out of himself whenever he comes here." she huffs, setting out some teacups. I can't help but laugh at her remark.

Kagome was right earlier. There was plenty to keep me entertained until darkness fell. Especially what was called 'TV.' I think I spend an hour watching it, just trying to figure out how it works, but eventually I gave up. It was just too complicated. Kagome said that many thing were made possible because the humans learned how to control electricity, the same stuff lightning is made off. It's pretty amazing.

The whole day, she basically let me run around the house so I could blow off some steam. Inside it didn't matter what I did or how I reacted, just as long as I act within proper limits outside. At one point, Kagome's grandfather and younger brother arrived home, carrying many sweets, which I immediately took a liking to.

"Kiri, are you finished with that? I'm ready to go." Kagome says, showing off her new dark blue kimono, which she changed into. I drop the box of sweets on the kitchen table. "Yeah, I'm ready." I state, making Kagome look surprised. "Really? Are you going dressed in that?" I blink at her before looking down at my Furisode kimono. It has patterns of white blossoms and our family crest is placed on my right hip and left shoulder.

"What's wrong with it?" I ask confused, making her hesitate. "Well, it's rather elaborate." she explains. "You really think so? Sesshomaru makes me dress in something more elaborate than this when he takes me to parties. Sometimes I think he's trying to wed me off the way it screams: 'Look at me! I'm available!'." I shout waving my hands about. Kagome looks amused at this. "You are probably right." she says.

"It never works though. Men from my time tend to believe that my behavior is unlady-like. Can you imagine?" I tell her. Kagome only shakes her head, snickering. "Never mind the kimono then. Let's just go before we miss anything and remember to keep your ears covered." she warns. I nod, showing I heard and we head off.
