A Blast From The Past (YYH/Inuyasha crossover) Kurama x OC

Part 14

~Kurama's point of view

It is early in the morning as I make my way to the living room. Silently I slide open the door, not sure what to expect, but feel relieved when everything and everyone is still intact. I can't help but pause and smile down at Kiri as I pass her on the way to the kitchen. She's still slumbering peacefully, her blanket pulled up right under her slim nose.

I guess they didn't realize that my hearing is pretty sharp; for I heard most they discussed the previous night. It left me pondering for a long time.

I concluded that Kiri returns my feelings, but not at what extend. I also know, that if I wish to pursue this further, there will be a lot of obstacles in my way. But she should not worry, for she has me wrapped around her finger from the moment I saw her. If she wants me to, I will fight for her, but for now, I will take it slow. I want to be a 100% sure that she is sure of her feelings and won't have any regrets if she wishes to stay because of me. The last thing I want to do is for her to sever the bonds with her family. All I can do now is let the fire simmer and give her a taste of modern day courtship.

With that in mind, I start to prepare breakfast. It is soon that the smell of breakfast lures a hungry Yusuke out of bed who eagerly takes a seat at the table. Glancing outside the kitchen I spot Kuwabara up as well, who is swooning over the sleeping Yukina. Hiei steps into the room just then, giving the guy death glares. I don't blame him.

"Yusuke, would you mind waking the girls up? Breakfast will be ready soon." I ask him, making him groan. "Or would you rather set the table?" I ask, knowing that will do the trick. "I'm off, I'm off." he mutters, walking out. Smirking I get back to my task, making sure that there are extra pancakes so Kiri will have enough.

"Christ Kiri! You scared the shit out of me!" Yusuke suddenly yells, making me whip my head around curiously. "Hey, something wrong? You look a bit shaken." Yusuke continues. Turning off the stove, I make my way to the living room where I find everyone looking at Kiri curiously, even the other girls are wide-awake now.

I look to see Kiri sitting up as straight as a board, having eyes as saucers and her senses seeming to be on high alert. I crouch down next to her, worried about what could have rattled her. "What's is it?" I ask her, putting a hand on her shoulder. She just stares straight ahead, not losing her focus on whatever she's sensing. "Something bad happened...."

~Kiri's point of view

I'm not sure how I know, but there is something horrible going on. Jumping to my feet, I rush outside, glancing around wildly. Not seeing anything, I jump up on the roof. At this point, everyone else made their way outside. "What are you doing up there?!" Kuwabara shouts before Genkai shushes him. "Let her do her thing."

Still not seeing anything, I instead smell the air deeply. As a breeze passes by, I freeze. There is the smell of blood in the air and not just anyone's. My claws twitch as a low growl breathes past my lips. Wasting no time, I transform myself into a ball of energy before flying off. Someone is about to die.

~3rd person's point of view

"Where is she going?" Botan asks alarmed. "How is she going?" Kuwabara asks, seeing the yellow orb that was once Kiri disappear from their sight.

Kurama turns to his short friend, "Hiei?" His forehead stops glowing. "She's going to that human friend of hers. She can smell blood." he explains. "All the way from here?" Yusuke asks amazed. "You seem to forget who and what she is." Genkai says.

Kurama frowns worriedly. "Botan, could you arrange a portal to Kagome's?" "Sure thing." she says, pulling out a device. And before long a portal is present. "Alright, let's go see what's up." Yusuke says jumping in. The others of the team soon follow.

~Kiri's point of view

I touchdown at Kagome's house where her mom comes rushing at me. "Oh Kiri!" "What happened mama?!" I ask, alarmed by her tears. I sense the guys appearing behind me, shocking the woman.

She shakes her head, not caring for that at the moment. "Some man came and took Kagome. He took her down the well. Please, Kiri... rescue my daughter." she pleads.

I run towards the well, about to jump in when I realize something. "Shit!" I grab at my head in frustration. "Kiri?" Kurama questions. "If Kagome is there, how can I go back?" He frowns, now also realizing this.

I pace around for a moment before gripping onto the well, my knuckles turning white. Taking a deep breath, I do the only thing I can think of; "Inuyasha!!!" I suck in another breath. "Inuyasha!!!!!" I yell down the well at the top of my lungs.

"Will he even hear?" Yusuke asks. "I guess it doesn't hurt to try." Kuwabara tells him.

As I wait, Yusuke's communication device rings. He opens it and Koenma's voice sounds through the shed. "Yusuke, what is going on?" "Well, it looks like someone from this time went to Kiri's. And they kidnapped her friend in the process." he explains.

"On no. And here I was worried about something bad coming over from that side. I never stopped to think that it could also happen the other way around." Koenma breathes.

"How did anyone find out about the well? You guys are supposed to be the only ones!" I ask exasperated before turning back to the well. "Hurry the damn up little brother!" Kurama takes a hold of me. "Calm down Kiri. I'm sure he's on his way."

"Anyway, I will try to find out more about this. Yusuke, if you can, you guys have to drag this person back to the current time. Who knows what their intentions are." Koenma says. Yusuke nods before ending the contact.

My eyes widen slightly as I notice movement in the well. I step back as Inuyasha jumps out. "Inuyasha, how is Kagome?" I ask as I see his solemn face. "Not so well. Good thing you called, I was just about to hunt this guy down." "Then let's go." I tell him determinately. He nods.

"Wait, we're going too!" Kuwabara says, stopping us. "Who the hell are these guys? I know the shorty and the red-head smells like that fox..." Inuyasha starts annoyed. "We're Kiri's friends and you need to take us with you. Somehow I feel responsible for this mess and I need to put an end to it immediately." Yusuke says. The others nod. "Fine. Let's hurry already." Inuyasha says taking my hand. I grab Kurama's and so on. Together we all jump in.

When we arrive I quickly jump out of the cramped well. I'm not surprised when Youko jumps out after me. As soon as everyone is out, I take off to Kaede's village. I screech to a halt in front of a pregnant Sango. She holds up my sword, which I take gratefully.

"We'll take care of Kagome. You better not waste any time here." she says hurriedly. I nod. "You can use Kirara for the stragglers." she smirks, watching Kuwabara walk into the village out of breath. "Thanks Sango." I turn to Inuyasha. "Let's go!" he calls. I nod, "Let's make the bastard pay."

Kirara transforms, shocking the lot. "Hop on Kuwabara, Yusuke." I tell them. "Aww..." they both moan. "Swallow your damn pride." Hiei sneers at the reluctant boys.

"Kiri!" a voice yells. I look to see Shippo rushing at us. "Let me come too. I will bite that bastard's head off for hurting Kagome like that!" I shake my head. "Shippo, you should stay here. If he comes back, who will be here to protect the village?" I reason, petting his head. "But..." he says teary eyed. "I'm counting on you Shippo." I tell him seriously.

He wipes his tears away and nods determinedly. I smile at him before walking off, soon breaking into a full out run. I notice Shippo staring at Youko in awe as he soon follows.
