A Blast From The Past (YYH/Inuyasha crossover) Kurama x OC

Part 19

"...And what about Rin?" I ask my brother as we travel towards the well. "The priestess will take care of her for now." he answers. I nod slowly before opening my mouth again. "Kiri, stop trying to find reasons why I shouldn't go. You won't get rid of me." Sesshomaru says annoyed, having caught up to my plan.

"But I just don't get it. Why would you want to go?" I wonder. "Because I want to know if my sister will be safe." he almost snarls in reply, leaving me surprised. "Oh." is all I can say, thinking that it's actually pretty sweet of him.

When we reach the well, I wasn't very surprised to see Inuyasha there. "Heh, I wasn't sure what to expect. I thought the chances of you returning alone pretty high, but was I surprised when Sesshomaru stopped by to drop Rin off." he tells Youko. It seems he already is fully up to date of the situation. "I haven't quite grasped it fully myself." Youko replies.

Inuyasha glances at his brother. "So... this is not odd at all." he whispers to me under his breath. "You're telling me." I almost groan back. "Well, good luck I guess. Try to show your face once in a while." he says hugging me. "Will do Inuyasha." I tell him, returning the hug.

"And as for you!" he says turning to the fox beside me. "You hurt her, I'll make you regret ever coming across us." "Threat noted." Youko replies unimpressed, but nods anyway, signaling he doesn't plan on it.

Youko envelops my hand with his own, giving me a cheeky wink before turning to Sesshomaru. "Well my future brother-in-law. Are you ready to see the future?" I cringe while blushing. He really shouldn't taunt Sesshomaru like that.

My brother scoffs. "Don't get ahead of yourself. As far as I'm concerned you've proven nothing to me yet." he says taking Youko by surprise. The fox's eye twitches. "You stubborn b-..." he says biting his tongue just in time.

Sesshomaru smirks, knowing he has the fox wrapped around his finger. If he wants his sister, he'll make Youko work for it. I look over at Inuyasha, feeling scared. They are like water and fire. Who knows what will happen if they are on each other's close proximity all the time. Inuyasha can only shrug and waves at us pitifully. "Good luck."

I take my brother's hand as he wouldn't go near Youko, obviously. Giving a final smile to Inuyasha we part. One by one we arrive in the present. I smile at Kurama who has turned back to his other self. He blushes lightly as he returns the smile, carefully taking hold of my hand.

When Sesshomaru jumps out of the well he glares down at Kurama who is, now being a little shorter than he was before and less bold, feeling more intimidated by his presence, but tries hard not to let it show.

"What happened to you? You smell more human than demon." Sesshomaru questions skeptically. "I'll explain in a more suitable setting. I suggest we should get you situated first." Kurama suggests politely, not looking away from my brother's eyes so as not to show any weakness.

I guess the approach of this Kurama is more subtle and strategic than Youko's. Whatever way, I just hope it works as Sesshomaru seems confused at the switch in appearance and personality. I can't tell what his feelings on the change are, but at least he recognized them to be the same person. Who knows what he would have done if he didn't.

Anyway, Kurama brought us back to Spirit world to meet Koenma as he would need to explain Sesshomaru's presence here. He was sure that he had already found out about it somehow and sure enough he was right.

"I hope everything will be to your liking during your stay here." Koenma says nervously, trying to suck up to my brother. I guess, since Sesshomaru is to play an important role in the Feudal era's future, Koenma really wants to get on his good side.
