A Blast From The Past (YYH/Inuyasha crossover) Kurama x OC

Part 15

After running for a while, the scent he left from the well gets stronger. "This guy smells weird sis." Inuyasha says. "I noticed." not disagreeing.

"It's obvious from the energy he exerts, that it's a demon, but it feels unfamiliar to me." Youko comments. "That's because it's mixed. This demon doesn't consist of one kind." Hiei says from the trees above us.

"Mixed breeds? Does that happen a lot?" Yusuke asks. "It's not unusual, but it seems this one isn't limited by just two like most." Youko says.

"Hmm, I wonder what a half dog, half fox demon would look like..." Kuwabara questions making Yusuke snicker. Inuyasha almost trips over his feet at that comment. "Inuyasha! Focus!" I scold, ignoring the comment. Youko seems to care less and only smirks lightly. "Fools." Hiei comments.

"Sesshomaru is already there." I observe. "Figures." says Inuyasha.

We burst through the thicket of the woods to see Sesshomaru facing a tall muscular man with spiky orange hair and icy blue eyes. I gasp at what he holds, or rather who. "Rin." "Big sister!" Rin cries.

"I didn't expect you to have such heavy back up Lord Sesshomaru. The spirit detectives no less." the man says in a smooth voice. Sesshomaru doesn't acknowledge the presence of anyone, only keeps his eyes on the target. "I don't need them to defeat you." he says calmly, but looks can be deceiving.

"Sesshomaru?" I question. "Stay out of this fight Kiri, as goes for all of you." he orders harshly.

"He hurt Kagome, you have no right to tell me not to fight!" Inuyasha growls. "And he has Rin. Do you think I will stand by doing nothing as her life is threatened? I care about her just as much as you!" I tell him.

"Oh yes, do share the fun my Lord. There's plenty of me for everyone." the mysterious man says. My eyes widen as he suddenly starts to duplicate until we are equally matched. "He wasn't kidding." Kuwabara says.

"What do you even want in this era?" Youko asks, finally wanting to know a reason.

The men smile in a sinister way. "I'm glad someone bothered to ask. Well, I really just want everyone dead that had something to do with splitting up the world into a demon and human one. Doing that was a mistake, deprived demons from their true freedom. Makai is just a dark, fancy prison. Once the worlds are one again, like they should have been all along, we demons have nothing to fear from Spirit world punks." explains the one on the far right.

"What does my brother have to do with this?" I question. "Heh, this traitor is one of the instigators. He was one of the people involved in cooking up the mad idea of splitting up the worlds." says the middle one. I blink at that. It seems hard to believe that Sesshomaru would do something for the good of both races.

"Well you can kiss your plans goodbye. I don't like people like you messing with the order of things." Yusuke tells them. "Hn. One day I would have probably reveled in the idea, but there is no telling who will disappear from existence if you succeed, so to ease the disappointment, I'll just have to kill you instead." Hiei says.

The one holding Rin speaks up, "Good to see that you're all so motivated. That makes this all the more fun. Now, let's get this fight started. I have more people to ki-argh!" He is cut off as he is pierced by what looks like tree roots. Suddenly Hiei disappears, reappears in front of the demon, cuts of his arms before catching Rin and returning to our group.

I blink, barely registering what happened. "What do you say Hiei? So many eyes and none to watch his back." Youko smirks. "Shameful." he replies smirking back as he lets Rin down who soon clasps onto my legs.

Amazing, they were already working towards an attack. Youko's question was only to distract him. "Heh, awesome." says Yusuke proudly.

The guy seems rather peeved at the loss of one of himself, but soon creates another one. "You'll regret that." Sesshomaru steps forward, "You will be the one to regret ever stepping on my land. I'll destroy you." he says flexing his claws.

I push Rin back. "You better get out of the way Rin." She nods before running in the thicket of trees, knowing we will find her when it's over. I glance at Youko and Hiei. "Thank you for saving Rin. Now to make this fool pay." They nod.

Now that his ward is safe, Sesshomaru figures enough time has been wasted and rushes forward. The enemy splits up and I quickly draw my sword to block my designated bad guy's attack. I quickly go into offense mode, but he blocks every strike I make with his wrist guards. I push him back before holding my hand to the rain clouds gathering above. Lighting comes crashing down. Catching the force within my body I set the whole thing loose on him. He will receive no mercy from me.

He surprises me as he just smirks at the oncoming attack. I look on as he catches it before sending it back to me. "Shit!" I yell out as I jump out of the way, the blast of lightning thundering on through the battlefield before crashing into the trees just beyond Inuyasha, making the wood turn to dust in a bright flash.

"What the hell Kiri?!" my little brother shouts. "That wasn't me!" I yell back in my defense, but have no time to say more. Another streak of lighting is headed my way. This time I'm prepared enough to catch it and send it back myself, but that deemed pretty useless as he just copies the movement.

I feel irked as we just end up throwing lightning back and forth, it seems pretty useless. I blink as I sense something different. The lightning is changing in power. It's growing stronger with each throw so he must be adding to it every time. "Do you think you can control it better than I can?" I ask him. "I know I can. Lightning is only your sub-power, but it's in my genes." he says. "We'll just see about that." I say adding more power myself.

The blast is quickly growing in power and each time around it gets harder for either of us to return it. At one point, one of us will have to give way. It goes for me once again and by now I've lost track of how many times I've done this. I catch it, but am beginning to slide back. Gritting my teeth I trust it back with all I've got.

"Take cover!" I yell towards my battling allies as I send my whip after the blast. It snaps at it, the force growing unstable and uncatchable. My enemy's eyes widen as the blast engulfs him before blowing up. I cover my face from the debris flying around and nail myself to the ground with my other hand as the air pushes me back.

As the blast fades away, there is nothing but a crater left in the ground. "Heh, I don't need to be stronger if my thinking proves superior." I say smirking.

"Kiri!" I hear Youko yell. I look to see another copy coming at me, but I also see Kuwabara in trouble. Making a fast decision, I run off towards Kuwabara with the guy on my heels. I pull out my sword at the last moment, driving it in between the neck and shoulder of the one assaulting Kuwabara.

I rip the guy in half down to his waist before spinning on my heel and catching the fist of my pursuer. I use the momentum to pull him down to the ground where I dive on top of him, taking a good hold on his head. I can hear him scream as I twist and pull until it comes off entirely. I drop the head to the ground and look up to see Kuwabara look at me disturbed.

Suddenly he turns around, throwing up. "Oh man, sorry about that Kuwabara." I apologize patting his back.

I jump in shock as the earth beneath me shakes. Looking behind me I see Sesshomaru pinning down one of them, his hand driven through his heart. He calmly stands up straight, shaking the goo of his hand. "Keep your eyes on the battle." he says dully, looking at me through the corner of his eyes. I realize he just stopped an attack headed for me. "Thanks bro." "Hn." is all he says in reply.

Looking around, I see more replacing the ones that are killed. "This doesn't seem like the way to go. He'll just copy himself every time. Eventually we will be the ones to tire." I say. "We need to destroy them all at once." Sesshomaru states. "How?" I question.

My eyes widen as he pulls out his sword that is starting to glow blue. "No! You'll kill everyone!" "Not like I care, so unless you have a better suggestion..." he starts. "It won't be easy. We'd need to pin them down or something so everyone can get out of the way." I suggest. "Fine, get to it." Sesshomaru orders. I nod, jumping off, knowing he will cover me. I will need Youko for this.
