My braided hair slaps on my back every time I touch down on the springy bed only to rise as I jump up again. Music echoes through the room as Kagome jumps alongside me. "Why are we jumping again?" I ask her, still not getting why she is so excited.
"Because you have a date silly." she pants. I halt in my newfound exercise, confusion written all over my face. "What's that?" I ask making her fall off the bed in shock. She rubs her sore butt, while looking at me amazed. "Really?" she guffaws.
Suddenly a knock sounds on her bedroom door. "Kiri. Someone's here to see you." Kagome's mom calls out. Kagome suppresses a squeal. Jumping off the bed, I make my way to the door. "Have fun Kiri! Take your time." Kagome calls after me. "Yeah yeah." I say walking downstairs.
When I get down I see Kurama there waiting for me. He smiles gently. I smile back as I wrap another band around my head and ears. "So, where to?" I ask once I'm finished. "Just follow me and I'll show you." I nod.
"Will you be back for dinner?" Kagome's mom asks. I look at Kurama for the answer since I have no idea how long we'll be gone. "I don't think so Mrs. Higurashi." he says. "Alright then. Have fun you two." she calls with a pleasant smile.
"Wow." is all I can say when we reach our destination. "Wait until you see the inside." he says getting behind a line of people.
"What is this place?" I ask curiously. "It's an aquarium. You can see all sorts of alive marine animals here." This got me interested. I've never seen anything but fish, dolphins and the occasional turtle, and the only squid I've ever seen was on my plate. I wonder what else there is.
As the line moves forward, Kurama pays for two pieces of paper before walking in. I quickly follow after him. "This way Kiri." he motions.
As we walk through a dark hallway it suddenly changes. It looks like glass all around us, like a tube. And on the other side is water it seems as many fishes swim around us. I look up to see one swim over my head! Kurama chuckles at my gaping face. "This is amazing." I drawl.
"Glad you think so. Let's move forward, or else you'll never get to see everything." I nod, slowly following after him as I sometimes spin circles as I spot something interesting. This clearly amuses Kurama.
As we clear the amazing tube we find ourselves outside. I rush over to a glass wall, pressing my hands against it. Looking down, I see an odd bird looking creature. "What are those?" I ask as soon as Kurama caches up. I notice people looking at me oddly at the question. Jeesh, sorry.
"Those are penguins. They're birds, but instead of flying, they're skilled swimmers." Kurama explains ignoring the staring people. "How odd." I comment.
This is pretty much how it continued for hours until we got out. Kurama seemed pretty beat, having to keep up with me the whole time while answering millions of questions at the same time. Poor guy.
"That was fun. I wouldn't mind going again some time." I tell him. "I'm glad you liked it. I suppose you'll be pretty hungry now." I think it over for a moment. "I think I am. Are we going to get more ice cream?" He shakes his head. "I had something else in mind." he states.
"Mmh. This is so good." I say inhaling the ramen. "Kagome brings some from time to time, but Inuyasha always eats them before I get the chance to taste it. Now I finally understand why."
"Hey Kurama, Kiri!", shouts a voice from the other end of the building, making people look towards it annoyed. Kurama explained that we're in a mall and told me what it it was. It doesn't seem like the place to holler like that. As we look up, we spot Kuwabara and Yusuke running up to us.
"Hey, Hiei told me that Kiri came back, but what are you both doing here?" Yusuke asks curiously. "Isn't it obvious Urameshi?" Kuwabara says, nudging his friend. Yusuke seems to realize something as he grins foolishly. "Oh right. How could I miss that? Kurama, you sly fox!" he says slapping the redhead on the back making him choke on his noodles.
"What?" I ask, wanting to know what they're on about. "Huh? You don't know?" Kuwabara questions. "Know what?" I ask starting to get annoyed. Yusuke is about to explain when Kurama shuts him up with a glare.
Yusuke crosses his arms. "It's like that is it? Well, if you want to deny the obvious fact of what you two are doing here, then I guess you won't mind if we take her to the arcade." he says slyly. "Yusuke." Kurama warns him.
"What's an arcade?" I asks, curious at the new word. "Well dear Kiri, I'm glad you asked. Kuwabara." Kuwabara nods at the signal. Quickly they both take one of my arms before dragging me off, making Kurama look after us in shock before standing up. "Wait up!" he shouts running after us.
The arcade was fun, as well as getting to spend time with Yusuke and Kuwabara. They were easy to make friends with. The noisy hall left me tired though, so Kurama decided it was enough and after saying our goodbyes, we left the place for what it was and continued on our own way.
As the sun started to set we found ourselves at a look out on top of one of the tallest buildings in the city. "Please get down Kiri. You're scaring the living daylights out of the people." Kurama begs as I hang onto the chain fence, looking over it.
"Relax. This height is not going to kill me." I reassure him. "We know that, but they don't." he says motioning at the other people there, looking at me wide eyed. "Oh right." I say before making my way down. "I guess I got a little carried away." I say rubbing my head embarrassed. He smiles. "It doesn't matter, it means that you're having fun. That was the whole purpose."
"Well, I guess it's safe to say that this day was a success." Kurama says after a while when we're back on solid ground. I nod in agreement. "Yeah, it was really fun. Maybe we could do it again sometime?" He smiles brightly at that. "I would like that, Kiri."
"Great! Though you don't have to look so nervous about it." I say, noticing that he tensed just slightly. However, my words make him stiffen even more. "Ah..." he slightly stammers, unable to form words.
"I promise that next time I'll try harder not to freak people out okay?" I say cutting him off. He's been acting pretty nervous from time to time, especially since yesterday. I guess he's afraid of me blowing their cover.
He shakes his head. "I'm not worried about that." "Oh?" I say tilting my head in confusion. "Then what are you so worked up about?" His eyes grow wide, like a rabbit facing a wolf.
I laugh at his gaping face. "Don't be so awkward Kurama. It's just me." "That's just it..." I think I hear him mumble under his breath. "Huh?" I tilt my head in confusion.
Before I can question him, a ringing comes from his pocket. He seems a little startled as well as relieved. Following him to a more secluded spot, he takes out the same communicator thingy that Yusuke has. "Yes Koenma?"
"I'm sorry to interrupt Kurama." he begins as he glances at me looking over Kurama's shoulder. "But I'm afraid something urgent came up. I'll have a portal waiting for you close-by." "Right." Kurama nods before putting the communicator back in his pocket.
He looks back at me apologetically. "I'm afraid I can't take you back to Kagome's." "That's alright, I can find my way." I assure him. "Still, I'm really sorry for cutting things short like this." he continues. "It's really fine Kurama, you have work to do. Anyway, I really had a lot of fun. Thank you for showing me a good time." I say before giving him a quick peck on the cheek. He seems startled by this, before smiling softly.
"I too had a lot of fun. I hope we meet again soon." he says. "You can count on it. You're not getting rid of me yet." I wink making him chuckle. "I'll hold you to that." he says before he sighs disappointingly, "Well, I must be off. Until next time Kiri." I nod, waving as he quickly runs off.
Sighing, I smile satisfied. I hadn't had this much fun in ages. Humming to myself, I make my way back to Kagome's who was just getting ready for bed since it was already late. After hearing me out on my day, we both went to sleep before she would take me back the next morning.
