Chapter 1: the first day

Chris' pov

I'm currently sat in the middle seat of a car in between Gordie and Vern whilst Teddy is sat up front with his mum. Vern has been rambling on about random shit the entire ride, Gordie has been reading a book and Teddy has just been annoying the hell out of his mother.

Teddy and his mother are visiting his mums sister up in Tulsa and since Teddy wasn't exactly thrilled about the idea he convinced her to let us all come along.

Gordie's parents didn't really care if he went or not since they spent most of the time ignoring him, unless he did something wrong.
Vern's parents were ok with him going but his mother made sure that he'd call them as soon as he got there.
My Dad said no to me going since he's been on a bit of a mean streak lately but, hell was I going to stay home whilst all my friends went. So I sneaked out even though I know I'm gonna get hided for it later I'm ok with that though it's not like it's anything new and hell its worth a hiding. Deep down I know that I'm terrified of what's going to happen when I get back home but I decide to keep the thought out of my mind.

"Hey, Mrs Duchamp how long until we get there?" I say in the most politest way possible for me.
"Not long now dear about 10 minutes" she chuckled

We finally came to a stop in front of a small house that was a bit rundown. It was a tinted brown/yellow house that I could tell used to be white, it had broken blinds in the windows but it was better than my house so who am I to judge?
A short woman with brown curly hair and blue eyes, wearing an old tattered dress came running out of the house. She quickly hugged Mrs Duchamp and kissed Teddy on the cheek.

"It's been forever since I last seen you Mary" the woman squealed hugging Mrs Duchamp (Mary) again.

"I've missed you so much Tia, how's Keith doing?" Mrs Duchamp questioned hugging her sister just as tightly.

"Oh he's fine, you know him he's a handful but always cheerful" Tia chuckled

The sister continued their chatter for a while, I think they forgot we were there.

"Who's Keith?" I whispered to Teddy

"Oh he's my cousin everyone calls him Two-bit around here though" he whispered back

Just as I was about to question why people call him two-bit a guy wearing a grey Mickey Mouse shirt came up to us.

"Well if it isn't Teddy bear, how you doing man?" He chuckled

"Don't call me that!" Teddy snapped

I couldn't help but chuckle at the name and Teddy's reaction. Luckily I wasn't the only one as me, Gordie and Vern all bursting out with laughed as Teddy's face went bright red.

"Aww Teddy bear, what's wrong? Don't you like your cute name?" I teased as we all continued to laugh.

"Shut up Chambers you asshole" he scowled but we all just continued to laugh and joke.

After we all finished giving Teddy a hard time he introduced us all.
"Guys this is my cousin Two-bit. Two-bit these are my asshole friends Chris, Gordie and Vern" he said pointing to each of us.

"It's nice to meet y'all" Two-bit grinned then turn to his mum.

"Hey ma I'm gonna make my way over to the Curtis' now"

"Take Teddy and his friends with you, they can't spend all summer indoors so they should make some friends." She grinned the same goofy grin that Two-bit made.
