When I got to my locker inside the school, I saw my best friend Emily standing there waving at me anxiously and beckoning me to hurry to my locker.

"Zia!" She squeals excitedly once I start a small jog towards her.

"Hey, Emily." I say with a smile and hug her.

"Oh my gosh. You won't believe what happened to me this weekend." She says while squeezing me tightly.

"I probably won't be able to get a chance to know if you keep squeezing me like this." I say almost out of breath from how tightly she was holding me.

"Oh, oops. Sorry." She says letting go. "But guess who asked who out?"

"Who?" I ask walking around her to get to my locker to open it.

"Michael. Fucking. Clifford." She paused.

I stopped entering in my combination to look at her with wide eyes, waiting for her to continue, even though I already knew what she was gonna say next.

"Asked. Me. Out." She finished with a wide grin spread across her face.

"Oh. My. Gosh." I say in absolute shock. "Emily!" I squeal loudly.

She started squealing with me. "I know. I didn't know he would ever ask me out, let alone even have an actual conversation with me and he said he wants to go on another date with me tonight."

"Oh my gosh, Emily, you do realize that you're dating the most chased after guy at school right? Everyone is going to despise you." I explain while reentering my locker combination.

"That's fine. I'm getting what I want and all they can do is sit back and take it. Envy is all it really is." She says teasingly with a sassy hair flip.

"Oh my gosh." I say rolling my eyes at how ridiculous this girl is while opening my locker and grabbing what I needed for the first few classes.

"Ah, well, looks like Lukey-pie is on his way to greet you." She gives me a small nudge on my arm and winks at me playfully. "See you at work." She walks away.

Luke smiles at me as he approaches me and gives a small wave.

"Hi." I say sheepishly.

"Hey, Zia. Wow, you even look super, super cute today." He says turning on his charm.

"Thanks." I say turning towards him and jumping back a bit, surprised by how close in proximity he was to me. His arm was propped on the wall next to my locker and he was leaning his head down towards me like he was telling me a secret. His eyes were glancing back and forth between my eyes and my lips and he took his bottom lip in between his teeth when his eyes focused on my lips.

Right when he started to lean in, I heard a very familiar voice call out my name.

"Hey, Zia! It's time for class!" Calum yells down the hall, his voice getting closer. "You don't wanna be late." He says with a breath, coming to a stop a short distance from Luke and I.

Calum greets Luke with nod, also serving as Luke's cue to leave. Luke awkwardly walks away with his head down in what seemed to be embarrassment before saying he'll see me at work.

Calum wraps his arm around my shoulder after I shut my locker and walks us both in the direction of class. "You know, I was really hoping he would kiss me just then." I say after a moment of silence.

"Psh, yeah. Like I'd actually let that happen. You're funny." He says with a scoff.

I rolled my eyes and huffed angrily, frustrated at Calum. I don't get why he can't just let me choose who I want to be with and what I want to do. It's honestly so annoying and I still can't wrap my head around why he gets so protective of me when it comes to Luke. I mean, it's Luke. He's just a tall, scraggly noodle guy who wants a kiss. He's literally harmless. Although, he can give off an intimidating vibe with his lip ring, his normal dark-ish everyday attire, his broad shoulders and his towering height. The fact he can get a girl to swoon simply just by glancing her way with his piercing blue eyes that compliment his stunningly charming smile, his lips...

"Zia. Helloooo? Earth to Zia, do you copy? Hello? Zia? Zia, hey, snap out of it."

"Zia!" Calum shouted, startling me out of my daydream. "Is everything alright up in there?" He says, knocking on the top of my head like it was a door.

"Yes, Calum, I'm fine." I say, moving his hand from my head. "I was just thinking."

"About..." He says, motioning me to continue with hand gestures.

"The assignment in English that's due tomorrow. I haven't even started it yet and it was given last week." I say in attempt to cover up my daydreaming of Luke.

"You want some help on it. I'm more than happy to help you out."

"In English?" I question him, raising a brow.

"Yes, Zia. English." He says with a nod and a smile as we walk through the doors of our first class.

"Well, unless I would want a bomb on me and be blowed up today or tomorrow, I think I'll be fine on my own." I say jokingly with a playful wink.

"I was six!" He exlaims in frustration.

I shrug my shoulders and gave him a joking expression showing I didn't really care.

"You're such a cock." Calum says with a laugh as we sit down in our desks as the bell rings.

this chapter ended a bit abruptly and was really boring and not that good but the next chapter is going to start at the end of the school day and will probably be equally as boring and I'm sorry. :)
