Friday 11:50 a.m.

"No, Luke. Heat transfers to the ice, causing it to melt. The ice doesn't give off heat, it takes it in."

"Wait, where does the heat come from?"

"Ugh, can this wait until after school?" I ask crossing my arms on the table.

"Yeah, I just still don't get it. I wish you would just give me the answers."

"Well, just answers aren't gonna help you on the exams." I put my head down on the table, wanting to rest my eyes.

"Hey, guys. What's up?" Emily says, sitting down next to me.

"Do you have the answers to the chemistry homework?" Luke asks.

"Luke." I say, lifting my head up from my arms.

"What?"

"I thought you wanted help in chemistry?"

"Well, yeah, but-"

"Then quit asking everyone for answers."

I started to rub my temples. I had already spent all of last night doing my homework with Emily and Calum and i didn't get much sleep and now I have a massive headache and my brain was practically fried. Fridays just aren't my days.

"Here, I brought you some water. I know how it is for you on Fridays." Emily smiled and handed me a water bottle.

"Thanks." I say with a small smile and take a sip of the cold water. "I'm gonna start heading to class now. I'm gonna see if Mr. Longely will let me sleep during the lesson." I say standing up and grabbing my things.

"I'll come with." Luke stands up gathering his things as well.

"Why?" Emily and I ask simuntaneously.

"I don't trust Mr. Longely. What if he tries making a move on you?"

"You seriously think the whole situation with Stacey is true?" Emily asks.

"Well, I would think. She does get around and what if he came onto her?"

"Okay. Come on." I give in. I was actually glad Luke was coming with me. Everyone was kind creeped out by Mr. Longely and so was I. I didn't really trust him either so I'm glad I would have Luke with me.

"Well, I'm gonna go sit with Michael. I'll see you guys later." Emily says.

"See ya." I wave bye and walk out of the cafteteria with Luke not too far behind.

"So, what are we supposed to be doing in class today?" Luke asks, catching up to me in the hall.

"Just review, for a test next week. Why?"

"Hey, slow down." He grabs my arm, to stop me.

I turn towards him and he inches closer to me, bringing his hands up then down my arms and grabbing both of my hands in his. He looked into my eyes and took a deep breath.

"Erm, you said you wanted to sleep." He speaks up.

"Yeah." I answer, nodding my head.

"Well, uh..." He gulped. "Let's skip."

"What?"

"We can go to my car and you can rest and we can just drive around and then go to your house and if you're up for it, you can help me with chemistry. Or we can just wait until tomorrow." He insists.

There was a long pause. I was shocked Luke wanted to skip school. I was just really confused. He's never been this way before, but I was kind of enjoying this new side of him.
