"Yeah, actually, you did interrupt something." I spit back at Calum. Luke got up and helped me off the cold ground.

"Well, I was worried as to where you may be, considering I didn't get a text or call letting me know you were gonna run away with this wannabe loverboy."

"Calum, stop-"

"No, Zia, what the fuck? You skipped school to go hang out with this loser and you couldn't tell someone?"

"Cal-"

"You could've at least told me where you were! That you were okay!"

"I'm sorry, okay?! I just got tired of you always being on my case! I got the opportunity to hang out with Luke without you and your rude, sarcastic remarks about how lame you think he is!"

"I can't help if he's a fucking tool!"

I turned around to Luke who's head was hanging down in embarrassment. I put my hands on his shoulders causing him to raise his head, his eyes meeting mine.

"Luke, I'm so sorry he's being this way. Especially towards you, you don't deserve it."

"I'll be fine." He smiles sweetly at me. "I'm just gonna walk home, let you guys talk it out. I'll call you tomorrow, Z."

"Okay. Stay warm." I pull him into a quick hug before he turned around and walked off to his house down the street from me.

I turned back around and walked to where Calum was and stopped in front of him on the porch. "Do you really have to be such an asshole?"

He shrugged his shoulders and smiled smugly at me, making me grunt and roll my eyes in annoyance.

"Okay, little Miss Attitude, get inside, your lips are starting to turn blue."

"Good. I hope I freeze to death so I won't have to deal with your shit anymore." I say crossing my arms and turning my cheek.

"I don't think Luke would be too fond of that idea of yours, drama queen. Now go so we can talk." He says stepping outside and pushing me inside the house.

"I don't want to talk to you right now, Calum." I say sourly while taking off my coat.

"It doesn't matter if you want to talk to me or not. You left in the middle of school and you didn't tell anyone." He says closing the front door roughly.

"Why didn't you just ask around? I'm sure somebody would've seen..."

"Oh, I did. Emily told me Luke walked you to chemistry so you could 'sleep'." He says making air quotes with his fingers.

"I did sleep." I said looking him straight in the eyes.

Calum raised his eyebrow, giving me a look of disbelief.

"Well, I fell asleep in his car." I look away from Calum, shrugging my shoulders while walking to the kitchen.

"Why would you go to sleep in his car? He could've hurt you, Z." Calum follows closely behind.

I rolled my eyes at him and grabbed an apple from the counter and a water from the fridge.

"Well, he could've!" Calum raises his voice.

"Yes, because driving me to a pizzeria to help him study is so horrifying." I say waving my hands a little to emphasize my sarcasm.

"What pizzeria? We don't have one here."

"Yeah, but a town few over does." I say with a sassy smirk while jumping on the counter.

Calum clenched his jaw and I could tell this entire conversation was already making him upset, so being the best friend that I am, I wanted to see how far I could push it.
