The training room was just off the main lobby and about the only room Simon knew how to find. Ironically, however, was the room that he most hated. It was a huge hall like space, with exposed wooden beams, who's only purpose should have been to hold up the roof. But, apparently Shadowhunters liked to use all resources available, and the beams often got used to test balance and strength of nerve. Two things of which Simon couldn't quite master.
One of the walls, usually covered in giant padded panels, was now holding a wealth of weaponry with the panels laid on the floor in rows. Again, doubling up as padded floor mats. There weren't as many people in the training room as Simon had expected. Then again, there weren't many people anywhere in the cavernous building. Making the space feel even colder and bigger.
Simon shivered discreetly and started to stride towards the weapons at the far end of the room. A strong arm slammed across his chest. He almost fell backwards at the force of the impact and a hand quickly landed on his back between his shoulder blades, gently, steadying him. He looked up, dazed and slightly winded. Staring at him was a blonde haired boy, about the same age but much more muscular and a tiny bit taller.
A cough escaped Simon's throat as the arm was moved away from his front. He tried his best to glare at the boy stood next to him. What a jerk. Just as he was about to continue on forwards towards the weapons a flash of recognition sparked in his mind.
"Jace!" He shouted surprising himself. It hadn't meant to be a shout.
"Yes that's me. Although I do answer to Angel boy, sexy, bet-"
"The mega egotistical one that thinks he should own the world. Ye' i remember you." Simon rolled his eyes, why couldn't he have bumped into the other one? The nice quiet one with the dark hair and blue eyes.
"Actually, I don't really care much for the world. I think you may be getting me confused with my foster brother, Sebastian." Jace continued admiring his nails. "Any way, your not doing weapons today." He paused to catch a knife that was sailing towards his head and toss it back in the general direction of where it had come from. "Your on the beams, now get up there!" He shouted the last part and slammed his hand down on Simon's shoulder. In a reassuring manner? Simon wanted to think that Jace liked him. Although he wasn't entirely sure, but he seemed like a dangerous person to have dislike you, so he just went with it.
