I know what you're thinking, why put a question mark there? Didn't you know that it was a date? No, I didn't. I had no idea it was a date. In fact, I don't even count it as one! Let me explain.
After class on Tuesday, we talked about a few things (again, I won't bore you with the details) but our main topic of discussion was our top five TV shows. He talked about Mad Men, which is a show I've been meaning to watch but never got around to it. I'm being for real! It was on my list on Netflix for a while, but k-dramas took over my life. I was trying to come up with my top 5 list. I could only think of 3 shows in the moment.
"Just text me your list", he said.
"Okay!"While I was at work, I was coming up with my list. Once I figured it out, I sent it to him. He replied with his top five. I don't remember either of our lists if I'm being honest. It was a while ago! Cut me some slack! We texted a bit back and forth about the our shows. I texted him that I've been meaning to see Mad Men but never got around to it. And later, it happened! The golden text!
During my philosophy class, I kept looking at my phone to see if he responded to my text about wanting to watch Mad Men. He took a while to text back. I found that very irritating. But the one time I did tap my phone to see if I got a text from him, I did! It read: Are you free this weekend? I legit was about to shit my pants in that moment. This is the text that everyone with a crush dreams of! But I had to play it cool! I waited until I got back to my dorm to text him back. I already had plans to go to the mall and then hang out with my friends on Saturday. But I didn't want to hang out with him on a Sunday. Sunday's are usually homework days for most college students, so I felt like that day wouldn't work. I figured that I could hang with him in between the mall and hanging with my friends. So I finally texted him back: I should be free for a bit on Saturday. Smooth AF, Jasmine! He texted back: Cool we should get in some Mad Men then. I texted back: Sounds good!On Thursday, we walked together again after class. It was almost like a regular thing at this point even though we've only done it three times. I told him that I was going to be off campus and that I'll be back at around 3pm. I told him that I'd text him when I got back. And then we went our separate ways.
I planned out my outfit strategically. I needed something a little form fitting but not slutty. I needed to show my figure, or at least just my boobs. So I decided to wear a fitted cropped white t shirt, light-washed paper-bag waisted jeans, and my black low top converses. I wore my hair the same way as the time we studied together but this time my hair was straighter. I wore my favorite silver hoop earrings to complete the look. I was feeling great about myself which is important for hanging out with your crush.
After living my best life at the mall, I texted him once I got back to campus. He texted: Ok, I'll be over in 20 minutes. I texted him my room number so he could sign in and come to my building to watch Mad Men on the top floor lounge. While I was waiting for him, I was setting up the lounge. I connected my laptop to the TV. The most important thing wasn't that, but the seating. There were about four couches in the lounge. Each seats about three to four people. If two couches were next to each other, he might sit in one and not sit next to me. I couldn't let that happen! The point was to get closer to him! So I purposely moved all the couches towards the back of the room and left one in front of the TV. I'm a genius, honestly! So clever!
He came into the lounge. We greeted each other and I got Mad Men going. We sat on the couch together. My plan was working! We would talk while watching the show. Sometimes I would ask questions about the show and he would answer them. While we were watching the show, we sat close to each other. Close enough that our shoulders and legs were touching. Throughout the whole time, I was getting frustrated! Why hasn't he made a move yet?! Does he not like me?! He even rested his arm on the back of the couch but didn't put his arm around me. At that point, I felt like he only liked me as a friend.
I needed progression, but how? How am I going to send him the message that I like him? It was almost time for me to meet up with my friends. I started gathering my things. I asked him if he wanted to see my room and all my Kpop stuff. He knew that I loved Kpop. He said yes and we headed to my room. He helped carry some of my things down to my room too. We entered my room and he saw all my Kpop stuff. He wasn't scared. That was a good sign! He doesn't mind my fangirling. Any guy that can put up with that is a keeper in my eyes! We talked some more. This time we talked about movies. His top five movies were all westerns except for one.
"Oh... I don't think this is gonna work out", I said jokingly.
"Why?", he replied.
"I hate westerns."
"What?! Even The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly?! It's a classic!"
"Yup! Blame my stepdad. He watches them all the time! And I can't stand them. Maybe I'll watch a western in the very distant future."
"Haha! Okay. Well, I'll get going so you can meet up with your friends."
"Oh, okay! I'll wait for the elevator with you." As we were waiting for the elevator to come I said, "I had a really nice time! We should hang out again."
"Yeah, for sure!", he replied. The elevator arrived and he leaned in for a kiss. Stupid me thought homeboy was going for a hug, so it was awkward. But once we laughed it off, we kissed and then he left. He's clearly no rookie at kissing. We kissed about three or four times. I still remember the way his lips felt against mine. I felt super tingly inside. Oh yeah! I liked him for sure!My brain exploded! HE KISSED ME! I touched my lips because I couldn't believe it. I couldn't wait to tell Amanda all about it. She was the first person who knew about Mark from the jump. I was about to hang out with her and Pia. I kept my promise, and told Amanda all about it! I spilt the tea if you will.
