— day 1
The moment I saw the gloomy look on my mom's face, I already knew something bad happened. I took off from the porch and ran towards her, hugging her as she weakly hugs back.
"What happened?" I asked, worrying for my mom before pulling away.
My mom didn't say a word, she just shook her head and walled off. I was left there, confused. Somebody placed their hand on my shoulder, it was Daryl.
"What happened?" I repeat, this time asking the latter.
"She and Maggie got taken." My eyes widened when I heard that. "She had to kill some of 'em assholes who took them."
After Karen and David, my mom hasn't killed again. Until now. My heart aches for my mom as I figured she'd want to be alone right now, just like I did when I killed that woman from the prison. I wanted to be alone after killing one of the Wolves, but Carl was just there and I couldn't leave him or Judith while there was something going on. I can only imagine what my mom's feeling right now.
I spotted Maggie hugging Glenn, I rushed towards her and pulled her into a hug, careful not to put too much pressure on her stomach, before pulling away. "I heard what happened. Are you alright?"
I saw the cut on Maggie's shirt but nonetheless, she nodded. "I'm okay."
"Hey, uh, can you take her back to our house?" Glenn asked and I nodded, before he thanked me and Maggie and I walked away.
Once we reached their house, Maggie sat down on the couch and pulled something out of her pack. She told me to go sit beside her, before showing me a picture.
"Aww," it was picture of an ultrasound, of Maggie's ultrasound. It must've been from the Hilltop. I have this happiness in my chest that I can't quite explain. I gave the picture back to me and smiled at her. "Do you think it's a boy or a girl?"
Maggie shrugs, looking down at the picture of her fetus baby. "Whatever the gender is, I'm happy. Glenn and I will become a family."
I grabbed Maggie's hand and held it, us smiling at each other. "I better be an aunt."
Maggie laughs and I do too, before she nods. "You will be."
Maggie and I spent the rest of our time talking about baby names and experimenting on what the baby would look like if it's a boy or a girl.
— later
What's more awkward than having someone walk in when you and your boyfriend are kissing?
It's walking in on my mom and Tobin kissing.
"Okay, this was a wrong timing." I awkwardly said, making them pull away. "I'm gonna go now..."
"Wait for me outside!" I hear my mom call out before I opened the door and closed it shut behind me.
Holy cheeseballs. I did not saw that coming.
I leaned my arms on the railing as I waited for my mom to come out. Seconds later, she did just that, with a sheepish smile on her lips.
"So... you and Tobin?" I asked, a hint of teasing in my tone.
"It just happened." That's what Rick said. "Look, I understand if you're not fine with this, but you also gotta understand that—"
I cut my mom off. "It's okay. I'm okay with it."
My mom looks surprised. Although deep down, I wanted to walked on in my mom and Daryl kissing, not Tobin. But it's cool, if my mom's happy then I'm happy for her. I still wish it was Daryl though...
