Zaylies Pov
Calice and I made our way outside sullenly.I was upset about being clueless to his ability,but atleast he was going to explain now.I can't believe the dog I lived with for 2 years ,the dog I slept with when I felt alone,the dog I cried and laughed with,was actually a shapeshifter all along!I was baffled,but hey appearently Im a vampire's bride,I have cool Harry Potter powers,Why not my best friend be a shapeshifter?
I sighed on frustration,turning my attention to Calice.He was staring at ne anxiously,his ocean blue eyes boring into my violet ones and his blonde hair with black streaks shimmering in the sun.He bit his lip and began.
"Zaylie Im sorry,I wasn't allowed to tell you...Trust me I really wanted to,I felt awful lying to you."He said guiltily,giving me puppy eyes.Freaking mutt.Oh no!I sound like Vixen!Ew.I was thankful for his apology but I wasn't going to let him off the hook that easily.
"Why?"I questioned suspiciously.He sighed.
"Well I was sent here to protect you,due to you position ,by my parents.Who are good friends with yours and wished for you to be oblivious to this because they wanted you to live a normal life."He said seriously.I stared dumbfounded.My parents know?So are they supernatural creatures as well?His eyes met mine and seemed to read my mind.
"Your parents are witches.Royal witches to be exact."He explained.His eyes watching me closely for my reaction.How are they witches?I felt a headach starting.
"Am I a witch?"I asked quietly,a little worried abou the answer.He nodded,still examining me.
"Yes.Your parents are the King and Queen of witches.When they leave it isn't because of human jobs.They go around the world doing various tasks and having meetings with other members of the council.They're unable to watch you all the time and that's why I'm here.Your parents possess great power,which you inherited.They are able to control the elements,fire,wind,earth,water and spirit.Only the King,Queen and their offspring have the ability.Noble witches control up to 2 elements.Many vampires,werewolves,witches and other supernatural creatures come to kidnap you or kill you because of this power."He explained sky blue eyes showed anger toward the creatures that bring me danger.
All I could think was wow.My parents are royalty,Im a freakin' heir and Im in danger.My head spinned,but shoved it away to continue my questioning.
"Why can I only control fire?" I asked confused.Understanding crossed his face.
"Your powers have just begin to awaken,probably by the traumatic event caused by Vixen and I.The elements represent emotions.Fire is anger,stress and frustration.The prominent feelings you felt then,which triggered the element."He responded.My brain was finally drinking in the information,answering questions.I even thought it was pretty cool.I smiled and his eyes lit up with relief.
"I forgive you Spiff"I said warmly,using my name for him.He returned the smile happily.
"My real name is Calice Ecan,I was born shapeshifter,and before you ask no I don't live in a pack.Shapeshifter prefer individuality or family.And you can call me Spiffy ,Zaylie.Even if it makes me feel gay.I owe you"He joked.I laughed with him,happy we were back on good terms.But I was still curious.
"Whats the difference between werewolves and shapeshifters?"I asked raising a brow.
"Werewolves have a curse given to them by witches, when a group of men pretty much players raped witches.The witches called them filthy,hungry wolves so decided to turn them into wolves"He stated with a hint of anger toward the werewolves and continued"Shapeshifters began with a mistake during an expiremebt,but we think of it as a gift.We love it.We shift into the animal we are mostly tied with genetically,emotionally, physically etc.In my case a Siberian Husky."He explained cheerfully.
We were heading back in,when a question popped in my head.
"Why did Vixen make me his bride?" I asked suspiciously.Anger flashed through his eyes before he composed himself."Probably for a peace tie"He replied stiffly.
"Huh?"I asked even more puzzled.
He sighed with exhaustion,His blue eyes becoming dull."That's right you don't know.Witches and Vampires have been on bad terms when they began killing eachother for territory.His parents probably wanted him to claim you to create an alliance between both species"He responded expressing a pinch of annoyance.
"Why him and not another vampire?"I asked,tilting my head causing red hair to cover one eye.
"Because he's the Vampire prince"He spat his voice dripping with venom.

This chapter was pretty boring,but I had to write it to help you know what's going on...:/
