Chapter Nine {Part Two}

It had been two weeks and it was now New Year's Eve. In those two weeks Cher had tried about every trick in the book to get one of them to tell her the gender, even when Meryl took the envelope home with her. Nothing had worked, they wouldn't budge on not letting her know early. Pauly and Meryl had thought of gender reveal party that was also a New Year's party, that way they could invite a few more people to the party, rather than just the ones that knew about the pregnancy. Cher knew everyone that was coming, so she was fine with it.

Meryl had brought Don with her this trip, that way they could still spend New Year's together. She and Pauly bought a cake just because they knew Cher liked cake, since they had thought of another way to do the reveal to her and everyone else. They don't know how but Georgia had somehow already found out the gender without even looking at the envelope. She was just always one step ahead of everyone.

Since they found out the gender, Meryl and Pauly had been sneaking things into an empty room that was near Cher's. They, of course, had it locked it from the inside and took the key, that way Cher couldn't get into since they were planning on surprising her with the nursery once the baby was born.

They had spent most of the afternoon getting everything ready for the party and it was now the evening. Although, they still had a hour or two before any of the non-family members arrived. Cher had yet to get ready for the party. She was sitting on the couch with Meryl and Pauly, they were relaxing for a few minutes. She said, "Will you tell me the gender now?"

Both Meryl and Pauly laughed before Meryl said, "Can you not wait a few more hours?"

She shook her head, "No."

Pauly said, "Well, you have too."

She let out a small sigh, "Fine."

Cher stood up and walked into the kitchen, she was planning on getting a snack. She opened the fridge when she heard Pauly from the other room, "Cherilyn Sarkisian, stay away from that cake."

She let out a small laugh, "I wasn't going to touch it."

She grabbed something to eat before she walked back into the living room. She sat back down on the couch. She said, "I have no clue what I've going to wear to this."

Meryl said, "I put something on your bed."

She nodded, "Thanks."

They sat there for a few more minutes before she decide to go get ready. It was better to be ready a little earlier than she needed to be anyways. She walked to her room and saw the outfit that Meryl had placed on her bed. She got dressed in red dress. It had long sleeves and went to just around her knees. It was loose fitting, but her bump could be seen just a little bit, but no one would be the wiser if they didn't know she was pregnant. She finished getting completely ready and made her way back to the living room about thirty minutes later. She saw that her mom and sister had got there while she was getting ready. Chaz and Elijah got there within minutes of each other about ten minutes later. Elijah also had his wife with him and Chaz had his girlfriend with him since they were invited to come as well.

Both boys had fifty dollars in cash to give to the other depending on who won the bet that night. It had started at much lower price but both of them kept raising it.

It was about thirty minutes later when the first non-family member arrived, who just happened to be Reba McEntire. Meryl had answered the door. She and Reba had met back in 1998 and were more than happy to see one another again. They brought each other in for a hug before Meryl said, "It's good to see you again."

Reba smiled, "It's good to see you again too."

Meryl was curious, "Do you know about you know?"
