It was almost a week later and Cher was two days into her twenty-fourth week. When the media caught wind of her and Andy's relationship, they wanted an interview of the two of them talking about it. Which she only agreed to if Oprah did it and it was a home interview because she thought it would be much easier to hide her pregnancy at home that it would be in a television studio. On the plus side, it was also more comfortable there and if she needed to, she could cover her stomach with a pillow.
Cher was expecting Andy back soon because his manager wanted to see him in person to discuss his next movie before he did the interview. He had told her that he wouldn't be gone long. She hadn't finished getting ready yet, still thinking that she had more time before the interview because she hadn't checked the time. She hadn't put on the the shirt she was going to wear to help cover her bump. She was only in a tank top and a pair of jeans that she was going to wear.
She heard a knock on the door, figuring Andy had forgotten his key, not realizing that he had sent her a message telling her that he was running a few minutes late. She placed her hand on her stomach when she felt her daughter kicking. She opened the door, not bothering to look to see who it was. She was a little surprised to see that it was Oprah and the camera crew. She had completely forgotten that they were going to get there a little early to set up. She looked at Oprah and then looked down at her hand on her bump. She mumbled to herself, "Shit."
She moved her hand as she let them all in. She motioned for Oprah to follow her, knowing the camera crew would stay behind to set up. She walked towards her room with her following close behind her. Once they got back to the bedroom, she mostly shut the door, leaving it opened slightly before turning to her. She ran both of her hands over her bump as she spoke, "This is what it looks like."
She continued, "She's the secret I've been keeping from everyone, well mostly everyone."
Oprah was initially shocked, but she wasn't shocked for long. She said, "Is this why you and Andy got together?"
She shook her head, "No,"
She paused before she continued, "I love Andy so much. The baby was rather unexpected due to my age, but we don't want to let the public know yet. Which is why I want to hide my stomach as much as possible during the interview, without being obvious."
A smile grew on Oprah's face. She was going to give her, her utmost support. She said, "I can help you with that during the the interview, if you'd like."
She smiled, "I'd like that."
They moved into the closet so they could continue to talk while she looked for the shirt she was going to wear. Oprah looked at her and said, "Earlier you said, that this was a secret kept from mostly everyone. Can I ask who else knows?"
Cher nodded, "Yeah. Besides family, my best friend, Paulette knows, obviously. She was there when I took the test. The others who know are, Meryl, Reba McEntire, Christine Baranski, Julie Walters, and Amanda Seyfried."
She said, "Meryl knows?"
She laughed, nodding, "The night I took the test, I may have called her at like 2am her time, slightly freaking out."
Oprah laughed back, "I guess that's one way to find out."
Cher laughed once more. Oprah looked towards her, "While we were planning this, you said that you were going to sing to Andy. Does he know?"
She shook her head, "No, it's his surprise."
Cher soon found the shirt she was looking for. She was about to put it on when she felt the baby start to kick. She said, "Here, you have to feel this. Give me your hand."
