you may be dust to some
but someone out there
sees you as beautiful as the dust
in the night sky; for them you're a star.
for some you're a cactus—
difficult and painful to love.
but someone will make you their rose;
and love both your petals and thorns.
for some you're a tree
that's needed to be cut.
but there's someone that will guard
and sprinkle you with care to flourish.
your someone is out there,
waiting for you to see them.
and see yourself;
because for some, you're their someone too.
