"Look man, I was just talkin' about the ride next week. All we gotta do is ride down the nigga house and get the money." Said Tony.

Tony was the main man in this life, he's been through it all and he's trying to get us to do it all. Tony was planning on getting drug money from a guy named Mason who was due to pay since last month, and his pay is way overdue. Tony lives by the motto 'Pay me now or die later' and just as the motto says, thats what he does.

"Tony, just wait it out you don't gotta do all this." I said calmly, trying to reason with him.

"What you mean 'wait it out'? You know how I am with my money man--this man have a whole fucking month to get the money and if he don't got it I'm puttin' a metal on his ass." Tony mimicked a shot gun to the head gesture and it sent chills down my spine.

I hung out with Tony a lot but never when he's all about killing people, I tend to stay away from that. I thought back to when my brother was killed in a fight over money and ever since then I never wanted to get involved in Tony's money heist.

"Aight man, you do you." I shook my head in disappointment. I stood to walk away buy Tony grabbed my shirt.

"Where you goin?" Tony asked.

"Uh, I got a few things I gotta do for my moms. You know take her shopping and all that shit, Ill catch you later though."

"Aight man you be safe." Tony gave me the regular fist bump and head nod.

"Always." I nodded back and walked away from him with a fast pace.

Driving home, I was aware that my thoughts ran off to Jaaliyah, I haven't had the chanced to text or call be but I've been thinking about her since we talked the first time. It was as if she had an effect on me and she would not come out of my memory. Her smile was permanently embedded into my memory to forever remember, and thinking about it seemed like my favorite thing to do nowadays. I thought on whether or not it was a good idea to call her, and eventually I did.

"Hello?" She picked up on the third ring. Her voice was full of life.

"What's up?" I asked.

"Nothing much, how about yourself?" I could practically hear her smile though the phone.

"Same, just driving around. You know nothing too serious."

"Sounds fun. I wish I could be driving around just to drive." She giggled. It was the softest I've ever heard.

"Want to join me?" I had hoped she said 'yes' to my surprisingly straight forward question.

"Uhh." She laughed softly. "I would love to but I can't. "

"Why not? Just for a few minutes?" My voice came out disappointed but I quickly composed myself.

"I have to stay home today and uhm, help my dad out with something.

"Aight then, maybe some other time." I said.

"Yeah, I have to go actually. Thanks for the call, bye!" She said in a hurry. Before I could actually answer the dial tone was all I could hear.

Jaaliyah was a shy girl and I understood that she had to go, all I care about now was that she answered my call and that was good enough for me. I noticed that I was smiling senselessly from that call and that was a bit suprising for me. I enjoyed it a bit.
