You Are Not Alone

God is Our Stronghold

     Hello everyone! I hope you are having an amazing week! I am so sorry for posting late last week! I woke up Saturday, realizing I hadn't posted on Thursday! I'll try harder, I promise!

     This week we are talking about the book of Psalms! Psalms has to be one of my favorite books of the Bible. It's hard to choose between that, or the letters in the New Testament. The Bible is just so beautiful and encouraging, and I want to share some of what I have read recently with you all!

      I use the HCSB Bible when I am physically reading my Bible, and not listening to it. I normally read KJV, but I thought I would try this version. I am really enjoying it. It is the version I will be using today.

   Today, I am going to tell you all about Psalm 46. In my Bible, it is called God Our Refuge. Sounds good right? I read this last week, and based on the fact that I highlighted 90% of it, I think you could say it's a good chapter. :)

     Psalm 46

1. 'God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble.

     Notice the word ALWAYS. He is 'always found in times of trouble.' He is always there when we need Him. When we have fallen, He is there to pick you up.

2. Therefore we will not be afraid, though the earth trembles and the mountains topple into the depth of the seas,

3. though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with its turmoil.

4. There is a river; its streams delight the city of God,  the holy dwelling place of the Most High.

5. God is within her; she will not be toppled. God will help her when the morning dawns.

6. Nations rage, kingdoms topple; the earth melts when He lifts His voice.

      His voice is powerful!!!!

7. The Lord of Hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold.

     God is with us! a stronghold is a place that protects against attack. God is our protection from the enemy!

8. Come, see the works of the Lord, who brings devastation on the earth.

9. He makes wars cease throughout the earth. He shatters bows and cuts spears to pieces; He burns up the chariots.

He is a powerful God! He makes war CEASE!

10. "Stop your fighting—and know that I am God, exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth."

He is exalted!

11. Yahweh of Hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold.'

What an amazing chapter! He is with us! He is our stronghold, a mighty God!

The next chapter says, "God reigns over the nations. God is seated on His holy throne." (Psalm 47:8)

Psalm 44:4 says, "You are my King, my God..."

And lastly, Psalm 36:5-10 says this,

5. 'Lord, your faithful love reaches to heaven, Your faithfulness to the clouds.

6. Your righteousness is like the highest mountains; Your judgments, like the deepest sea. Lord, you preserve man and beast.

7. God, Your faithful love is so valuable that people take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

8. They are filled from the abundance of your house; You let them drink from your refreshing stream,

9. for with You is life's fountain. In Your light we will see light.

10. Spread Your faithful love over those who know You and Your righteousness over the upright in heart.'
