Hello! Welcome back! I hope everyone reading this has had an amazing week!
I have been meaning to write this for a few days now, but I procrastinated, so I'm writing this the day it's coming out. I'm smart, aren't I? I'm sorry if it's short or not well written. I'm just trying to get this out to you all to encourage you, and I don't wanna be late like the last time!
Today, we are talking about fear. Yes, I know that we talked about peace a few weeks ago, and that I covered fear in that, but I just feel like I should write this today.
As someone that dealt with severe anxiety, I have dealt with fear. As someone, who's Mom was once depressed, I have dealt with fear. I remember, checking on my mom when I was very young, maybe 5 or 6, just to make sure she was still breathing. I have dealt with fear.
Fear can be caused by anything. It could be a simple fear. You may be afraid to ride the big roller coaster at the amusement park, but get on it, and want to ride again because of how amazing it was. But then, there are more serious fears. You may be afraid to go to school because of a bully. Or, you may be afraid to go home, because of a drunk father. Whatever your fear may be, God wants to remove it. He wants you to have peace. He doesn't want your stomach going into knots as you walk your way home from school, as you worry about the status of your home. God wants you to have peace.
I have some verses that I want to give you, so that when you are afraid, you will read these, and have the peace of God.
I was on a prayer call Monday night with four of my closest friends(two of them my sisters), and the girl who lead the call told us an amazing scripture in closing. This is Jesus speaking in this verse.
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14:27 KJV)
Do not be afraid!
I Corinthians 14:33 says, "God is not the author of confusion, but of peace..."
When you are afraid, you don't know what's going to happen in your situation. You aren't 100% sure that you'll go home to see a father that isn't drunk; you don't go to school, knowing that the bullies won't harm you. Peace gives you a surety that you will be fine. Peace gives you a surety that God has His hands on you, and His angels round about you.
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of love and of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7)
"What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee." (Psalm 56:3)
"Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee." (Deuteronomy 31:6)
I hope this was encouraging to you! Remember, you are loved. You are cherished. You are not alone. God bless! See you next week!
