Draco's POV

I know he has a crush on me, even if he won't admit it. Funny thing is, I'm not disgusted at all by it because I have a crush on him too.

He's the Golden Boy, who wouldn't? Problem is, if anyone were to find out, I'd be destroyed.

My father would kill me. Not to mention he's in league with Voldemort. If he finds out that Potter has a crush on me, then both of us are screwed.

I don't mean to make fun of him for it. It kinda slipped out in class today and now everyone's on board the whole 'Potters gay' thing. I feel so horrible it's not even funny, but I've got an image to keep up. I can't let him or anyone else know that I like him.

So, I did the one thing everyone expects from me. I took it to my advantage and I'm a horrible human being to do so.

There is nothing more I want than to run up to Potter and tell him everything. To apologize and pray for forgiveness. I really do like him. That stupid Gryffindor courage and the way he's loyal to all of his friends. He may not be the smartest when it comes to potions, but I find that adorable. It makes him more human and less like the savior everyone calls him.

I don't care that he is the savior, I like him for him. I like how his smile can light up a room. I like that he's so dedicated to the people around him and even how he can get rather snappy in an argument. He knows how to stand up for himself, but when standing up for others it's like the world can't knock him down.

Believe it or not, but he's very mischievous, always sneaking out and getting into trouble. Though I'm sure there are plenty of times he's done things and never got caught for it. Then again that boy gets away with everything, but he never takes advantage of it and he never does it for himself, it's always for the sake of others.

"So. Do you think Potter has a crush on you?" Pansy asked me. Classes have ended about an hour ago and we were roaming the dungeon halls until dinner. No one's really out right now seeing as dinner isn't for another two hours. People tend to try and get as much homework done as possible before dinner. Well that or they're stuck in detention or milling around their common rooms.

"There's no way." I lied. I don't know for a fact if he likes me, but my instincts usually aren't that far off.

"Then how did you know he's gay? Did you ask him?" Pansy persisted.

"No. It was just a joke. I'm pretty sure he's not gay Pansy. I mean, he dated Cho Chang last year, remember?" I hated it when he dated that chick. All she ever did was cry. Yeah, yeah, she lost her boyfriend, but seriously. If she wasn't ready to get into another relationship, she should've turned him down.

I never figured out what Potter saw in that girl. Wasn't much to her if you ask me.

She gave me a hesitant look, almost like she was scared to ask, but did so anyways. "Are you gay?"

I stopped walking and whipped around to stare at her. "W-What?! No! That's disgusting!"

She raised her eyebrow at me, giving me a pointed look. "Alright. Do you like Potter? Is that why you've spread the rumor in hopes people won't find out about you?"

Damnit! I really hate her observation skills. This girl can read me like a book. I guess that would make sense seeing as we've been friends our whole lives, but honestly. It gets frustrating how I can never keep anything from her.

Ok. I have to keep my cool. She can not know I like Potter. "Of course not, I'd rather be married to a hippogriff." I exclaimed.

I saw a flash of movement out of the corner of my eye.

When I looked, I saw messy raven hair disappear behind the wall.

Potter? Why's he out in the hallway? We're not even near the Great Hall, he has no business being over in the dungeons hallway.

"Listen. If you do, I'm not gonna tell anyone. I just want to know the truth. Maybe I can help you." My gaze went back to her.

I almost took her up on the offer, she's my best friend and I shouldn't keep secrets from her. I know she would never tell, not if she's plainly saying so. Ok, she could be lying, but she's never lied to me before. I was gonna tell her right there and then that she was right, but then remembered my dad and that Potter's around the corner, listening.

An idea struck me. "Pansy. Follow my lead and I promise I'll tell you everything back in the common room." I whispered to her.

She shot me a confused look before nodding.

I'm sorry Potter, I can't let you find out. I like you, I really do, but it will never work out, we're destined for very different lives. I'm the son of a death eater and your the savior.

I don't want us to have to struggle with everyone around us just to have a relationship, so the only way to help us both.... Is to shatter you.

I'm sorry.

I looked Pansy dead in the eyes before putting my hands on her cheeks and pulling her in for a kiss.

Her lips were soft, but were nothing compared to how I've imagined Potter's.

She didn't pull away. She knew I had an end game at the moment, but she'll definitely kill me later for it.

Pansy and I used to date, but liked each other as friends, especially since you know, I'm gay. So we broke it off.

I heard feet scuttle away and when I knew he was gone, I pulled away.

"Common room. Now." Was all she said before gripping my wrist.

She pulled me down the hall to our common room entrance, muttered the password, then proceeded to pull me into the room. Blaise sat on one of the chairs by the fire. He threw us a confused glance as she continued to pull me up and into my dorm room.
