Mila cried loudly from the backseat as we tried to find a place to park. "I know baby, I'm sorry." I pouted. As soon as Justin parked, I climbed into the back. I unbuckled her and laid her down on the seat so I could change her diaper. I quickly changed her and buckled her back into her car seat. "Are you all better?" I asked her. She yawned and looked up at me.
After Mila's newborn appointment, we went to the food court to quickly get some lunch. I looked around, breastfeeding her, as Justin got up something to eat. "Here you go." He put my bowl in front of me. He got me a quinoa bowl with chicken, black beans, corn, and tomatoes. "Thanks babe." I smiled and started eating. When Mila ate and burped, I laid her back down in her car seat.
The audiologist taped small wires to Mila's forehead and her temples. I sat on the exam table with her and rubbed her tiny hands. "Ok, I'm going to begin." He said before turning on the machine. Mila slept as the computer showed no brain activity. I looked over at Justin and watched as he chewed on his lip.
"There looks like there's no brain activity to sounds." The audiologist said. I wiped away some tears that escaped and I felt Justin hug me tightly. "I'll give you guys some time." He said before leaving the room. I cried into Justin's chest as he held me.
"I had a feeling that this would happen but it's still hard to hear." I wiped my eyes. I felt him put his chin on my head. "It's going to be ok baby, we did it with Marlowe and we'll do it with Mila," he reassured. I nodded and kissed him gently.
I smiled when I saw Marlowe laying on the floor with Mila. She was giving her little sister kisses on her forehead while Mila cooed. "You love your sister huh?" I asked her. She smiled and nodded happily.
