"Whut-chu thank, Bobba Jaw?" Joe Bob asked as he pulled his cap from the coveralls and put it on his head.

While pulling his own cap out and snugging it tightly upon his large skull, the bigger brother darkly declared, "We's a-gonna git even wit nat big see-tee ma-an jest lack we planned 'cept'en he won't be et home fer a-spell."

"He's a-livin' wit Clint."

"Ye-ah, wa-il, we got no cause ta hurt tha ol' man lessin' he gives us un."

"Ma shin's still sore. Since we gots tha time, Ah owe that littl' gal some payback!"

"Whut-cha wonts ta do, Joe Bob?"

Tiffany was listening to their conversation with escalating anxiety. She tried to reason with the twins. "Look, Fellows, I got you out of there. Why don't you let me out, take my car, and forget about hurting anyone?"

"Shud-up," Bobby Joe growled. "Jest drive easy lack and non't 'tract no 'tention."

"Which way?"

"You know whur nat Jade gal lives?" Joe Bob asked Tiffany.

"I-I think so."

"Nen, go there!"

"She won't be home either," the nurse pointed out, trying to stall the brothers' evil plans.

"She hain't gotta be!" Joe Bob snapped. "Jest git there!"

They arrived at Jasmine's house. "Pull 'round back," Bobby Joe sharply commanded. When Tiffany parked, the twins got out of the car. Bobby Joe reached into her window, took the keys from the ignition, and told Miss Traumatender, "You jest set tight!" Bobby Joe limped toward a small outbuilding across the backyard. He shambled back, carrying a red gas can.

"Heh-heh-heh-heh-heh . . . Ehhhhhhhh!" Joe Bob made the unnatural noise as he took the can from his brother and walked crabwise across the porch. Joe Bob used the can to break the glass in the back door. He reached in, unlocked it, and scuttled into the house. He sidled out a few minutes later and hurried to the car. The twins got in the car, and Bobby Joe handed the keys to Tiffany.

"Jest ease on out-a here," the bigger brother instructed.

Miss Traumatender slowly drove around the house and down the driveway. In her rear view mirror, Tiffany could see a flickering red glow behind the white front window curtains and wisps of smoke beginning to rise from the gable's vents. Tears streamed from the distraught driver's eyes. She cried, "How could you – "

"Shudup!" the twins barked in unison.

"Take us ta Clint's cabin en pull 'round back," Bobby Joe instructed gruffly, nudging the back of Tiffany's head with the pistol's muzzle.
