Who the hell is he?

"Hello! You must be Ms.Payal D'souza, please come in" he said.

I entered into the empty house hesitantly.

"My name's Samantha. I'm here on behalf of Payal. She had last minute appointments, so she couldn't make it here. But, don't worry, I'm the co-founder of ED(Elegant Designs) so your house is in safe hands" I said with a smile.

He looked convinced.

"By the way, I'm Adam. It's my wife Alice who wanted your help. And I'm quite not interested in refurnishing or designs or whatever you call it" he sounded friendly.

"Oh..OK.. so where's your wife?" my voice kind of echoed the hall.

He led me through hall to the kitchen, I guess. Yeah, its kitchen! the walls had wooden cabinets.

"Um.. she must be here in a few minutes. I'm sorry to make you wait." He gestured me to take a chair.

"That's OK. No problem" I said.

If I'd known she'd be late, I would have taken the tube instead of cab. Now,I wasted money on cab!! I know I sound thrifty, but you really don't know what it takes a middle class Asian to come all the way to London to do an MBA. The living expenses here is totally nuts!

Adam broke my train of thoughts by offering me some coffee.

"Oh..that's so sweet of you" I thanked him.

"Don't mention it" he said with a smile.

Just then there was a knock at the door. Sorry, somebody was banging at the door.

*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*

Is that Alice? I don't want to meet an arrogant, bossy woman on a Monday evening. That would spoil my entire week!

I was extremely nervous that my palms began to sweat. Calm down, Sam. You can take this. You've seen worst cases. I tried to encourage myself.

Adam excused himself and went to open the door. The knocker (banger, actually) seemed so impatient that I heard continuous banging that echoed through the walls.

"I can't take it anymore!" somebody was yelling.

phew, that's definitely not Alice. Alice can't be a guy, right?

The voice belonged to a guy who stormed to the so-called dining room and was stunned to see me. So did I.

He looked freaking scary. He was the tallest person in the room and he had...OK, he was not well-built but he looked fit. And the most frightening thing was his eyes. They were bloodshot. Not only that, his eyes looked different. I can't explain whether I meant 'different' in a nice way or not. Because I'm not certain myself.

His look was so intimidating that I stood up immediately from my chair.

"Um..Sorry, who are you?" his voice was intimidating too.

"I'm Sam, Samantha" I stuttered.

Adam explained him about me.

Thank god! Now, why am I feeling like a kid in a Principal's office?
