The End And The Beginning

Benedict's POV:

I got to my flat around 3AM. I don't think Anna would be waiting for me. The moment I sneaked into my flat, the lights went on. I felt like a thief who had been caught red handed.

I saw three big suitcases, all packed and ready to leave. Wow, my evil plan is working!

"Anna, what's going on?" I questioned her innocently.

I tried to put a small drama, making it real.

"You fucking lied to me everyday you came home late" she fumed.

"I don't get you..." I pulled a confused look on face.

"You bastard! I saw you kissing a woman! Now, don't deny that. Because I know that was you! "

"I...I...how did you find that out?"

"I found that out too late, mister. I should've noticed it before. I underestimated that b****"

"Anna!!" I shouted.

"Oh, great! She got you all mesmerised. I get it. Wonder what special gift she gave you!"

"Enough!" I raised my hand to slap her and forced myself to stop.

"I'm not the one who was making out with a stranger in public, at least I was ..." I dropped my voice. 'Careful Ben, you can't tell her that you were kissing your friend' my inner voice warned me.

Her eyes were widened with disbelief.

"You saw me?" Her voice came out weak.

"How long you've been doing this?" I know it didn't matter to me anymore but, I deserved to know.

"Benedict I'm so sorry...I didn't.." she started sobbing, trying to reach me. But I took a step back.

"We are not fit to be together,Anna" I said.

"You're right. We got carried away in the middle" she said. Her mascara was running down her face.

"No, we never had a special something. We just assumed everything between us was special" I explained.

"Fine. I wish you all good luck. Treat her right. Because, I don't think she's strong enough to deal with something like this" she said.

I'm certain that she's referring to my "infidelity". But, who's that 'She' that she's talking about.

She stepped forward to give me a hug and said, "Sam is a great girl so,don't do anything stupid".

I froze when she mentioned her name.

"Sam...How did you know about Sam? It wasn't Sam..." I tried to explain.

"I know what I saw Benedict. Just be good to one another. I should get going" she took her luggage and walked out the door.

"Anna!" I called her.

"Yeah?"

"I...the announcement..?" I don't want her to reveal anything ugly about us.

"Don't worry. 'We broke off amicably' will be the only sentence they'll get from my side. Ask your publicist to get in touch with mine" she cleared off my doubts.

"Thanks" I said.

She nodded and revved the engine and left once and for all.

I locked up the door and went to my bed after taking a hot shower.

This day was exhausting. I still couldn't believe that Anna saw Sam. I mean, I covered her. How did she see past me? If Sam comes to know about this, she would definitely freak out. I'm sure Anna won't reveal everything to the public because if she did, she will be affected too. So, Sam is safe now.
