Jeongguk pov
"Jeongguk are you okay?" Namjoon asked as he hugged my shoulders and lifted me up.
"I'm fine, " I said and got my handkerchief wiping the blood.
"Here let me, " Yoongi said as he took my handkerchief and placed it on my hand applying pressure to stop the bleeding.
"Jeongguk let's get you treated," Taehyung said and dragged me to his room. "Sit down and don't move, " he said.
He got warm water, towel, and bandages and dabbed it on my wound. It stung so I quickly retracted my hand.
"Don't move, " Taehyung said this time in a lower voice.
He continued dabbing the water on my wound until it stopped bleeding. He applied some herbal cream and bandaged my hand.
"Done," Taehyung said in a satisfied voice and gave a small kiss to my hand. My face turned pink and I looked down to my lap.
" Now the other hand, " he said. You got to be kidding me.

1 week laterMinghao asked to see me and said that there might have been tampering in the death records of concubine Park and requested for a investigation by the inner palace. I brushed the idea off and said that I will person ally go and find evidence abut tampering.
To my luck I found out there was an epidemic around the north palace where Concubine once resided in. I have also found out that her personal kitchen was the place with the most epidemic corruption. So the likelihood of her getting infected by the the epidemic is very high. The strange thing is the ancestral library does not record having epidemic spread although the whole court knows about it.
I decided to relay this information to Minghao as fast as possible. I head towards the palace courtyard and accidentally caught my sleeve in between some branches.
I tried to be careful to not tear the fabric, but when I successfully got my sleeve out of the branch a small tear was found. I didn't know what to think as my mother was the one to mend the cuts and tears on my robes since the maids and servants belittled us and said we have the perfect life.
It wasn't true. My mother was lucky enough to be favored by the emperor and bear a son. The luck all ended when I was born her favor decreased and people started to forget us. I'm fine with that as long as my mother was fine.
I quickly collected my thoughts and hurried back to my courtyard. I stopped right outside my courtyard when I saw the childish markings outside my doors. I turn my head trying see if anyone knew how the marking got there.
I saw an old court maid and called for her.
"Is there anything you need your highness," The maid asked.
"Do you when these marks appeared," I asked the maid pointing to the marks.
The maid let out a chuckle and said " Ah these marks a back when fourth prince and fifth prince played with you. I even remember the nickname they called you,"
"What did they call me may I ask," I said in questioning manner
" Ah Prince Jeonghan they used to call you HanHan," the maid said
" I'm sorry did you say Jeonghan?" I thought I heard wrong but I definitely heard Han in there.
"Oh! I'm sorry Prince Jeongguk," the maid became nervous and bowed. "I'll take my leave now the maid said.
"HanHan that what they called me huh?" I talked to myself.
I turned my head when Jinyoung headed towards me. "Your highness the king has sent a letter, and Princess Yerim has also sent a letter." Jinyoung said as he handed me the letter.
I took the letter and walked to my study forgetting about trivial affairs. I opened Princess Yerims letter first and the contents were surprising.
Dear recipient,
You are invited to Princess Yerim's and General Nam's sixth month anniversary banquet. Princess Yerim has something important to announce that day. You are to be wearing black or red on that day.
from Official Song the head of the festival bureau
I scoffed as I don't remember the invitation to the wedding. The wedding would have been held weeks after I lost my memories, but I never got the invitation. I opened my father's letter and to my surprise it was about the benefits of being king. I frowned and told the nearest palace maid to burn the letter.
I grabbed my brush and wrote to my father the reasons each of my brothers should be king and if he keeps pestering me to become king the things I will to the kingdom. I sent the letters hoping father would be rethink his decision of making me king. Since I had a brush I also wrote to Minghao since it was getting late.
People think I'm a insolent child to decline the royal order and become king. I just didn't like the title king. It brought distasteful memories about my mom being cast aside or my uncle being slaughtered in front of my eyes. I still remember that day ten years ago even if all my memories are gone it was very clear what happened on that day.
Ten Years Ago
"Uncle Han," I called out running to him with an unfamiliar boy beside me
"HanHan how are you," Uncle Han said passing me and picked up the boy beside me. "It must of been hard right living without you mother."
"It is not gukkie has been playing with me," The boy said pointing at me.
"Oh, J-Jeongguk when did you get back," Uncle Han said nervously.
"Weeks ago. You haven't visited in a long time," I said.
"The king requests to see Kim Hansan imminently," A palace guard said pulling the boy and I away from Uncle Han.
"HanHan I'll come see you again," Uncle said completely ignoring me.
"Gukkie come they said there will be a show our brothers will be there too," he said pulling me to the prison grounds.
"Look that's prison masters son. I heard that he can beat a grown man up," HanHan said. I looked at the boy that seemed quite young.
"He isn't that bad. He doesn't look like the thought type," I replied still looking at the boy.
A loud sudden voice boomed through out the prison grounds ringing in my ears. "We are here today to execute the Prince Hansan the only relative of the king. He has plotted against the king to usurp the throne. He is demoted to a commoner and will be executed by drinking sayak.
The king is benevolent if Commoner Hansan drinks the sayak on his own accord he will be promoted to the lowest rank official and be buried with the officials. If not he will not be buried with the officials, will be removed from the family genealogy, and have his family also executed," The guard said.
I ran up to the fence and saw Uncle chained on his feet. There was a bowl in front of him and he slowly grabbed it. I screamed no and he looked at me with a pained smile and drank the poison in one gulp. HanHan pulled me away and ran back to the palace garden before I could see my Uncle.
End
I never wanted to do that to my brothers. I just can't, but on the other hand I knew my brothers they would do anything father says they follow the palace rules and discipline people according to the rule. While I just let everything go. In my heart I know a name has been engraved in my heart 'The gullible prince' who believes everything.
