If you know me
You know that I love to read
And not just regular stories
I love to read the choose the way the book will end
Stories
And if you know me
You know that boys and girls both suit me
Either one will do for me
So when I look for these stories
The first thing I see is:
LGBTQ options
Which most of them have
But after you build your character
The "LGBTQ options" look a lot like this
Which do you prefer?
Girls or Boys
I don't know about you
But I don't like to be spilt in half
It shouldn't be girl or boy
But girl, boy, or both
I will not dissect myself so I'm easy to chew
It never should just be boy and girl
Just like i'm not black and women
Just like I'm not kid and human
But I choose one
And read the story anyway
But doesn't mean that this is okay
It just means I choose to be quiet than to speak
But trust me when I say I am both
Trust when I say I'm black women no space between
I'm a human child no space between
I'm the quiet loud no space between
Because you can not cut me on half and not expect a fight
You won't even get the chance
The spaces you put between Who I am will attack
And I won't be holding them back
They will wedge themselves between who you are
Cutting you in half so your easier to swallow
Dissecting you
So that the book won't have to
Choose between who you are and let's watch the story unfold
I wonna see how long it took you to make a choice
Did you sit there for hours or minutes
Where you glued to the chair like I was
Refusing to get up until the other half of you is missing
Letting them take the part of yourself that you were never really sure about
Some might say I'm overreacting
But let's put this into perspective
If someone walked up to you and says
"You can either be black or a women pick"
How would you react?
If asked
"Would you rather be white or male pick"
What would you say
It's not just the fact that their asking
But they actually want an answer
And they will take a side if you don't give them one
But my mind is not for sale
I'm using both parts of my personality
I'm not sorry if that is not how you wanted it
I'm not sorry if I caused you disappointment
And I'm not sorry to say you deserved it
