We all knew this day was coming.
I'm sure along the way, some of you realize this was going to happen.

Well your worst fears have been realized.
We all know America is not the Land of the brave.
And the home of the free that they make it out to be.

But I don't think any of us would think they would cross this line.
And just when we thought it couldn't get any worse.

They are trying to fix us.
Because apparently, we are objects.
Apparently, were things that need to be fixed

They are trying to throw away our pain and oppression for a rainy day.
And the way it's looking it's, ain't never gonna rain.

First, they promise us reparations.
Saying here's some money so you won't complain anymore.

But now they are going after our history books.
Or should I just say history?
Because we ain't in those books anyway.

They going after the dead.

They are trying to put Harriet Tubman on the cotton made dollar bill with Andrew Jackson.

No, I just have one question.
Or maybe 10,000

When you put her picture on that 20 dollar bill
Will you put her scar from the weight that was thrown at her by a white man?
Will you keep the pistol that she carried with her?

Will you keep the legacy she left behind?

Or do you just not care?
It's just another way for them to push us out the way to deal with "bigger problems"

Like we don't make up 13 percent of the American population.

They say black don't crack.
Well, black don't die either.
You can hang me from a tree.
And I will still find a way to scream.

With your black girl stereotype
You got one thing right
I will use my black girl magic to hang you from the trees that my ancestors bodies wants swung from

And while I have you hear I would just like to mention that

Black on black crime is not an excuse for white on black crime.
You oppressed us so much, we don't even know who we're mad at anymore.

But I know I'm mad at someone.
And you think giving her a movie is gonna make up for the way that you treated her.

Giving MLK a national holiday when she risked her family and herself for people she didn't even know

And all she has to show for it is a movie where you make it seem like a black girl can only save someone if she has powers

I'm sorry, you called it the what?
The United States of America
Because from what I've heard there ain't nothing United about it

if we're being honest
It should be called The Racist States of America

Because it's become abundantly clear that you don't care about us

A/N: I apparently wrote this poem 2 years ago I have no recollection of ever writing this. If you didn't understand the title by the end of the poem, R.S.A stands for Racist States of America.
