As slaves we would risk our lives to pick up a book
Now the only thing at risk in those pages are our IQ scoresNo one wants to read anymore
Like we would die if our skin touches a pageMy favorite place in Baltimore is Barnes and Noble
It's the only sacred place I know
I travel through time and space within these wallsThey call me a nerd
Like wanting to better myself is some type of sin.I don't see the harm in loosing myself in those pages
They say, "Home is where the heart is."
But my heart will forever lay in the pages of my favorite book:The Girl Who Could Fly
Because I will always flyIf not physically
Then mentallyWith my heart, soul, imagination, and body
